We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The History of Rio Nuevo is very interesting but they have eliminated most of the ruin so not worth the drive in to the site, better to read about it

Called in on spec whilst driving past and found the site closed. Fortunately there are contact numbers on gate. Called and the first contact was on holiday abroad but said house opposite had someone with key, if they were in. They were not. Called second contact number and was told that it would be possible to visit next day. Fortunately we were staying close by and next day it was indeed open. Two friendly older gents were in attendance and one of us gave us a short guided tour. There is not a lot there but it is still interesting.

When our EXCELLENT private Tour guide - Glenroy Johnson - took us on a tour Ocho Rios and surrounding area, we were so sad to see that much of the battlefield is being used for housing - BIG houses. I was very upset to see a very important part of Jamaican History being used residential properties. Is there no way that the Government could preserve such an integral part of their heritage?

For such an important part of Jamaican history you would think that the Jamaican tourist board would get its act together. For a country that relies heavily on tourism, it has proved very difficult to get information that is accurate and coordinated. For example we found it impossible to find any accurate info on the battle site. Web sites said one thing and telephone conversations said something else. The web site said it shut at midday. When we got there the security guard said it shut at 15.00 and the sign at the site said it shut at 17.00! Got there at 11.30 and the museum was shut. The battle site consisted of 2 rusty cannons lying on the ground, some broken chairs scattered around and a rather boring concrete block that acted as a memorable. Many of the tourist sites in Jamaica are not geared up for tourist! Come on Ja tourist board, sort it out.
