My sister and I visited this zoo this spring and we loved it. I can't wait to bring my granddaughter here. I know she will love it.

I was bummed last time I went because they used to have a really cool prairie dog enclosure set up like an ant cage where you could see tunnels and whatnot, and a big monkey enclosure with monkeys running and playing everywhere. Both those enclosures are now empty/shut down. They have a white tiger that follows you back and fourth... More

We visited this zoo on a nice fall Friday afternoon. Not crowded at all, perfect size for our little ones (5 and 2) to walk around. Really like the Grizzly Bear and otter exhibits; parakeets were also pretty active. We ate at the peacock cafe - very reasonably priced. I don't think the big cats have enough space - I... More

Used to live just a couple blocks away, but hadn't been here in more than 10 years. Even better now-- husband and kids loved it too. Be prepared for hills though-- it's not just a casual stroll through, but worth it!

Small little zoo but nice to do the zoo and then do the beach. Better for smaller kids I would think.

We decided to take a day trip up to Michigan City and I was so surprised that there was a Zoo here! While it is a small zoo, perfect for a half day outing, it was everything to be expected! Great exhibits and an all around great day. I highly recommend the walk up to the Tower for some great... More

This is a small zoo but a nice bonus to add to a day at the park or beach. Won't have to deal with large crowds or expensive prices.

We took our 14 year-old son and 12 year-old daughter to this zoo and were not disappointed. The zoo has many animals that are very cool to see and some of the exhibits are interactive. Buy a 'feeding stick' at the gift shop for $1 and head into the Australian Aviary. Birds are flying throughout the permanent exhibit and will... More

Washington Park zoo is a great little zoo with many animals. This place is amazing with its WPA stonework. The view from the tower is great and well worth the trip!

Have taken our children and friends here for years - special place, quaint zoo and parking across the street gives you access to visit the beach or the splash water park for children
