There's so much to do here. You have a huge beach which is usually pretty clean. A water park area. There's plenty of boats to see. Gazebos are available here. Has a fishing area. There is a nice zoo across the street.

Parkin is $7.00 for an all day pass. The beach is REALY nice and clean. The sand has a higher rock content, however the water is fairly shallow. The attractions in the part (zoo and water park) close at 4pm so plan accordingly.

We went as a small get away! And what a getaway it was! The park and the beach were inviting and clean! It was packed with people, but everyone was having a great time! I would definitely recommend it!

Very clean and expansive coast line as well as a park. The beach is well kept and has volleyball nets pre setup for fun. Had a blast with family and friends.

Beautiful beach. Visited for a family weekend with adult children. Weather was great. Lodging limited. Fairly easy to find your way around, small town.

While I enjoyed my visit to Washington Park (especially to see the Lighthouse), the $7 flat rate parking fee is frustrating when you only want to visit for 1-2 hours. I've always been a fan of hourly parking rates for this reason. I eventually found...More

They used the ramp to launch hobi cat sail boats, might be steeper though. Drive in park then go to left down the middle road and there is another area to park and the sand is right there. Beach a little farther though.

High 70's sometimes in the 80's because of summer. However, the water temp is usually cold until August. Great beaches though. You will have a great time. There are sand dunes all along coast up through Michigan.
Am planning a getaway this month for a few days. Wondered if Michigan City would be a nice place to visit in March?

Absolutely! If the weather is nice enough, which it has been, you can walk the pier or beach area. Dinning downtown is a thumbs up no matter which you choose. Be sure to check times some places have winter hours. The... More
