Wine recommendation of Ella was delicious and surrounding grounds were beautiful. The additional specialty of baked goods was great…purchased chocolate chip cookies & muffins for later.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 November 2023

Had coffee followed by lunch (lovely pasta in ragu sauce) and then decided to stay for a wine tasting when we saw the terrace overlooking the winery with the mountains as a backdrop. Stunning. - BillLemonsLondon, United Kingdom11 contributionsGreat Staff, Astonishing ViewWe came here as part of the wine tram tour and it was our favourite stop. We did the Black Label tasting while looking out at the incredible view of the valley. Our host Noxi was brilliant at walking us through the wines and helping us to understand the flavours and nuances. I am no wine expert and it was great to have such a pro to help us out! Came away very happy (and a bit tipsy) :)Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 January 2024
- Elle K77 contributionsWarm welcoming, first class service, rooms period style and beautiful, very relaxing. We were there for a family wedding and stayed in the beautiful old homestead wow it is magnificent, then a quiet stroll across the green grass to the pool, bar and eating area. The service was first class, food we chose to eat was good. Service was efficient, just a lovely setting to wander around soak in the scenery.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 30 January 2024
- FiFMarlborough Region, New Zealand270 contributionsBeautiful stopover in WinelandsBeautiful location and very well equipped luxurious rooms . We were in a vineyard room and it was all we needed and more . Luxurious bedding and great bed . Lovely bathroom and stunning views Beautiful wine tasting room . Dinner and breakfast at Savoye were delicious and staff excellent . The only reason not to give maximum recommendation was the regular drop off of wifi ( not shedding ) and the issues around mischarging and problems with check out payments . Otherwise a fabulous stay and great location .Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 April 2024

We were very much looking forward to easter lunch at Savoye and came especially from Camps Bay.
When we arrived, we were offered a table inside, even though we pre-booked a table on the patio 1 month ahead. When we told the waitress, she wanted to give us a very basic (shabby) wooden table at the side of the restaurant overlooking a parking without view. We weren't asked for drinks and weren't offered any bread and butter.
The guests on the table in front of us had kids permanently jumping into the pool and then walking past our table soaking wet to the bar to order drinks. The starter we liked (prawns) was already sold out. This should not happen if you offer a easter lunch costing 450 p.p.
I ended up eating a caprese salad, which tasted dull. The only other option was pork, what I don't eat. Our daughter (11) ordered a home made kids pizza without cheese and pineapple, only ham and she got what looked like two store-bought kiddies pizza breads, cheese removed and added ketchup/tomato sauce. We also had to pay extra for the fries, which were on the kiddies menu.
One fork was bent, one spoon very dirty, the second glass of white wine came in a red wine glass.
The mains (tuna) were loaded with food, the taste was ok but nothing special. We didn't even want to finish it. My husband had a eye lash on the starter and a hair on the main dish. Disgusting! Absolutely not, what we expected from pictures and beautiful words on the website.
The only positive thing were the male waiters. They were very friendly.
I have been to many restaurants in the Winelands but never was I as disappointed as I am from Savoye. Definitely room for improvement here.

Wine was great but service, food and experience were shambolic. We wasted ZAR 600 on a horrible “tapas tasting” experience. The server made sure there was enough time for our wine to get warm before another 15 minutes wait with our food in front of us to guarantee it was cold. Even if not served by someone inept at their job, the tapas would have been a rip off. This is the only vineyard we regretted stopping at on an otherwise great day

We have never been to Vrede & Lust before and were excited to go. Unfortunately we were greeted with poor service, had to wait for 20 minutes to be helped, and staff who did not ask us which wines we preferred to taste but rather just poured what they wanted to. Overall it was an underwhelming experience and we will not return again.

We have been for a wine tasting numerous times and that is why we returned. Upon arrival we informed the staff that we did not have a booking (which is quite ridiculous to have to make bookings these days for a wine tasting.... what happened to spontaneity?)
We really would have loved to be seated at one of their couches since I have a back issue, but was informed that the 8 seater couch area was reserved - for 2 pax... We enquired whether we can have sit there, but was informed that they are not allowed to do that. When the booked guests arrives we can approach them and ask to share the 8 seater couch - which would have been in the next 10mim
We did the Black Label tasting, and an hour later we left. Guess what? The 2 pax still hadn't arrived and neither did the hostess offer us to sit there even though it was a no-show booking.
Extremely disappointed in the lack of initiative from the hostesses. They call them wine ambassadors, I do not agree with this title. If this is the behavior that is conducted, the title may as well be Roadhouse Waitress, where no finesse and hospitality is required.

We did the wine tasting off the Frranschoek wine tram. We were slightly disappointed at the vrede en lust stop. Was very knowledgeable but very slow for off peak season. But listening to the other taster descriptions and explanations it is clear it’s not rehearsed and some people skim over important aspects of the wine.
We booked lunch on site and arrived with enough time for both tasting and lunch. But due to slow staff at the tasting we were unable to enjoy our experience.
