Community Veterans Memorial is a 6.5 acre park featuring bronze and granite sculptures, and life-size monuments to depict the major military conflicts that shaped the 20th Century. The memorial imparts a reflective and provocative vision for peace. From the trenches of World War I through the Pacific beaches and European battles of World War II, the extreme weather and combat conditions of Korea, the rugged brutal fire fights of Vietnam, and the sandy sea of Desert Storm, the memorial pays the highest tribute to all veterans. A commemorative brick pathway leads visitors on their journey through history. Individuals and groups are invited to take self-guided tours in which several stations provide pre-recorded information about the defining wars of the 20th Century. Guided tours are also available.

My wife had a doctors appointment nearby so I took the kids to see this memorial. It has been there for years, but we have never stopped driving by it all the time. I was amazed at how nice everything was, and it is a special dedication to our vets.

It does sadden me to find that two people wrote reviews and designated this memorial as "terrible". I believe that as much thought went in to this memorial as any memorial in Washington, D.C. I believe every major conflict from World War I to the Gulf War is represented with something outstanding. Whether the tail of a crashed plane, the... More

The Community Veterans Memorial is of the highest quality and could well be found among the great memorials located in Washington, D.C. The timeline along the sidewalks, the memorials to the many different wars and conflicts of our country are all interesting and educational. The landscape is beautiful and there are comfortable places to sit and rest or reflect. It... More

My father quit high school after pearl harbor was attacked and joined the Navy at 16. When this memorial was opened he put his naval uniform on and attended the opening. He is no longer with us but the memorial is there to honor his and all others who served to protect our freedom.
