Santa Train

Fun train ride. It was a snowy day so that added to the magic for the kids. We enjoyed the views, the ride and the visit from Santa.

We bought first class tickets for the Santa express. It was total fiasco from the beginning. 1. We got their an hour early as the website encourages. I asked at the counter if we needed to get in line now so we could sit together. She said no that if we go in at the same time we would be... More

We arrived about 30 minutes prior to departure on a 75 degree, partly cloudy October Friday, and though the outdoor car tickets were sold out, we were able to purchase first class tickets. Boarding started on time and we proceeded to the front of the train, where we were able to get an upper-level, vista seat. We were disappointed the... More

We took the Dinner Train in November hoping to see some of the colors. We did see some but a lot had already fallen. They had assigned seating and dinner was served to you. We had a window view and ate as we talked and enjoyed the view. It was a relaxing 2 hrs trip. The waitresses were amazing. I... More

My husband and I took our three youngest grandchildren (9, 8 & 5) for the afternoon train ride. Everyone loved the ride and museum which is attached. Make sure you bring cash for the concession car as they do not take cards. We went on a cool fall day so rode in the non climate controlled car and we were... More

Train ride is an experience, however, the scenery is not a "wow". What you see is brush and dirt they have pushed aside. Going over the high bridge probably looks more awesome from down below rather than being on the train.

We went to Boone for Thomas's Day Out. We usually go to Duluth for it, but the parking is a nightmare and it always very hot. Boone was more low key, although it seemed they had a lot less activities. The train ride was longer then Duluth, it was about 30 mins and we actually went somewhere, at Duluth they... More

This place is wonderful. There were very friendly staff members and a variety of things to do while you wait for your ride on Thomas the Train. We were sadly chased around by bees and although I would NEVER want bees harmed or sprayed for, that did somewhat ruin our time due to the amount of bees around and my... More

I took the dinner train on a Saturday evening. It was a fun experience with great service. While the food was disappointing, it was the fault of the servers and not the focus of the experience. There was pleasant company and a relaxing time. How often can you dine on the rails? Being from the east side of the state,... More
