Learn more about Davenport's history and why some of the places have distinctly German-sounding names. The exhibits are good quality and you may even find times when there are live presentations.

We visited this museum as a family and it was worth the time. We especially enjoyed the recordings of what young immigrants thought and did. The kids can try on vintage clothing of the time period. Adults enjoyed the local German connection of businesses run...More

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Davenport German Heritage Museum. The unfortunate conflicts of the early 20th century has left many third and fourth generation German-Americans distancing themselves from their roots. This museum does an excellent job explaining how many of our...More

Despite being a historian, I only know Germany's political history. This center allowed me to get to know the German culture from the North American immigrant's perspective. The exhibits were well designed and easy to follow. They provided both artifacts and interactive stations. The history...More
