We make sure to stop here so we get a picturesque view of Dubuque. Its only $3.00 to ride up and down. Near lots of old mansions and downtown area.

We were just driving around after our evening at the Redstone Bed & Breakfast and happened to find this! Very exciting almost vertical drop into a charming historical shopping district. A very nice surprise!

If you have not tried the 4th St Elevator, it is a pretty cool ride, even for long time Dubuquers. The ride is short, cost is low, and the view from the top is one of the best in the city. Make sure to take your camera or phone with you to grab the vista view from the top

The 4th Street elevator has been around forwver, the history behind it in facinating. It always made dubuque feel like a mini San Francisco on the river. It's a steep ride, but worth a try. I love that you have to pull to initiate the bell to let then know at the top, that you want to ride up. A great... More

Just a fun little thing to do when you are in town. From the top a great view of the river and only costs a couple bucks.

I can't quite put into words how charming and fun this was. Get in at the bottom, sit down, ring the bell and ride to the top. The upper bluff is worth checking out but, if you are pressed for time, this is a cheap thrill even if you ride straight down the bottom.

When you visit Dubuque you must take time to take a ride on the Fenelon Elevator. The price is cheap, the views outstanding and the experience out of the world.

What a neat little piece of preserved history and interesting story behind it. We found our way to the top driving there with the GPS. It's difficult to find without if you don't know where you're going. We found on street parking fairly close as there is no parking lot. The building is on the corner of the street. Walk... More

I would say that this was actually nothing special. There were no big prizes to go up....a great view of the Tri States....and then back down. There is a VERY nice ice cream/novelty shop at the bottom of the hill that I would not skip. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. And it was the only bathroom in the... More
