Hiked several trails of various lengths and difficulty. Beautiful area. Well maintained trails. Mostly grass paths. There is a paved path near the interpretive center that is partly handicap accessible and features information about various local tree species. Highly recommended.

The canyon in this park is breathtakingly gorgeous, in part because it's unexpected. Climb up to the overlook to see the river, and drive to the Julien Dubuque Monument for some Dubuque history and a closer view of the city.

Visited interpretive center. Relatively small but presented well about the area. Exhibits includes animals, birds, indians, original family farms, and lead mining. Gift shop area. Donations. Call before visiting to check on hours due to budget cutbacks and volunteers at times. The rest of the...More
