Is this Heaven? No, it’s Iowa. A place of fertile soil, traditional values and simple pleasure. And, in Dyersville, Iowa, at the century-old Lansing family farm with its quaint, and oh-so-recognizable house, baseball still ranks as a favorite pastime for all ages. What better place to carve a baseball diamond from a corn field and to make a movie about pursuing one’s dream, no matter how much effort it takes?

After you saw the American fantasy/drama sports film Field of Dreams starring Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan, James Earl Jones, Ray Liotta and Burt Lancaster in his final role in 1989, didn't you wish you could play a game on that field? I felt the same way when I sat in the dugout at old Comiskey Park and recalled that Babe... More

Thank you for the lovely review! The lights actually still work and we turn them on often as we rent the Field after hours for private parties and special events. We even allow wedding celebrations on the Field and look forward to staying open until 8pm in July and August as staffing allows. More

Had a great time reliving the movie in person. Kids enjoyed running the bases where the movie stars played. I liked the layout and price of admission was reasonable. A must see while in Dyersville!

While I wish we would have seen this with the corn lining the outfield, it was still really fun to see! Also, being the off season we didn't have to fight crowds to play catch on the field. If you're in the area and a fan of the movie or baseball, it's worth seeing!

Stopped here on our annual fall color leaf-peeping trip. Can't believe I'm a life-long Iowa resident, and yet have never made the pilgrimage to this place. Pretty much as I recall it from the movie, except the corn was dried down the day we visited. It's cool that they don't schedule organized games so that passers-by can have anytime-access to... Visiting the Field of Dreams is one of the coolest things I've done. The field is only a few miles from downtown Dyersville and there's good signage. At about .2 a mile away the trees block your view and then you start driving down a small hill and to your left you'll see it. At that moment I said, out... More

I loved Field of Dreams, and this site brings up all of the same emotions as the film. Considering there is no charge for admission, if you're also a fan of the movie, it is definitely worth a visit when you're in the area. They have a pretty good selection of souvenirs if you want something to help remember your... More

We were in the area so naturally we took a ride to see the famous field of Iowa. Even did a little geocaching while there! :-) Now I can say I've been, and thought I saw a little piece of heaven which was really Iowa.

The Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, was on our list of "must sees" for our girls' trip to Iowa. What a beautiful place and we are so glad to have been there together. Marcia was working at the Field of Dreams movie site that day and we certainly enjoyed meeting her and hearing her stories. She's a celebrity -... More

This place has always hangs certain mystique and magical feeling. We haven't had the opportunity to take yearly trip lately. However on a trip to Waterloo we stop on way thru; and I'm very glad we did.

Traveling through Iowa, we had to stop here. So we did. A very windy day and only one other young couple there visiting. It looks exactly like what you saw in the movie. We were lucky enough to actually sit behind Gabby Hoffman when we saw the movie. On the first base side of the field is where she fell... More
