A superb little mill. The origins of milling on the site are lost in time but what you see today is coming up for 200 years old. The mill machinery is in working order thanks to the efforts of a team of volunteers who make repairs and also now invite guests.
It is rare to be able to gain close access to working mill machinery and to appreciate the sight and sound of it running and feel the vibrations of the old machinery through the building structure. Definitely recommended for anyone interested in heritage buildings, engineering and machinery.
We didn't sample the tea-room, already having other arrangements, but I can say that the offerings looked excellent and with the surrounding countryside would justify a visit on their own.

Thanks for taking the time out to post such a positive review and it's great to hear that you really enjoyed your visit to the Mill. The Mill is not only fully maintained by volunteers, but together they also deliver the guided tours and prepare and serve the teas in the tea-room. Hope to see you again soon!

Beautiful site with picnic tables, a mill pond and lovely walks. The mill is fascinating as is the educational centre which serves tea and home made cakes on Sunday and Bank Holidays. Delightful little place off the beaten track and VERY peaceful

We were very pleased to find that the Mill is now open. The Volunteers here do an excellent job, we were escorted round the Mill by Peter who gave us lots of very interesting and entertaining information about the workings of the Mill and its history. We can also recommend lovely home made cakes and tea on offer in the Visitors centre. First class- we’ll be back!

We were walking in the area last Sunday and sat at the picnic benches to have our lunch. It was close to 1pm when we finished and we had noticed that the mill opens then. We walked to the visitor centre and asked when was the next guided visit and they said straight away. The tour was only £5 each.

The tour was very informative and good humoured. The guide had developed a rapport with the people on the tour. The story behind the preservation of the mill is interesting and it is still in working order.

After the visit we went back to the visitor centre where we had tea and cake. There is a good selection of homemade cakes, I chose whitsun cake. Our visit including the guided tour and our time in the cafe lasted c 75 minutes,

The mill is staffed entirely by volunteers and they were all very enthusiastic in what thet were doing. Although it is only open to the general public on Sunday afternoons, groups can arrange a private visit at other times.

Well worth a visit if in the area.

Spent a lovely sunny Easter Sunday touring the mill. The surrounding area is stunning , lots of interesting plants and wildlife around the Mill pond. We were given a tour by Peter, who gave us a fascinating glimpse into the history of Bunbury Mill through his extensive knowledge, pictures and examples of working machinery.
We finished the tour with some homemade cakes and drinks.

Great little place and very informative guided tour for just £5 per adult. And great cakes in the tea room too, well worth a visit if you're in the area on a Sunday.

Absolutely fascinating to visit the Mill itself, on a conducted tour (which takes about 45 mins) with a very knowlegable guide (Peter), and understand the functions of the Mill, and see them in action. A real education ! All at an amazing cost of £4.00 per adult, which is worth every penny for such an experience. And the cafe, aptly named the Watermill cafe, is one of the best ever been to - and that says something ! Wonderful cakes and coffees, and the most friendly and helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. It gets a 5 star hygiene rating, and no wonder. The cafe is worth a visit just on its own, but combined with the Mill tour, gives one an unforgettable afternoon out. Just brilliant all round. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

We went as a group of 5 specifically for lunch having visited the mill before. We had a delicious lunch, the open sandwiches on the home made soda bread using flour from the mill, were beautifully presented, very tasty and quick to arrive. The large choice of fantastic cakes and scones made it a difficult decision but we all tried something different, they are very generous portions, all extremely tasty but outstanding was the passion fruit cheesecake. Great that there was also a vegan option which was also fabulous. We will keep returning for the food, the setting and the extremely welcoming and hospitable ladies in the cafe.
