We arrived here, but it was closed, but did enjoy the little walk around out side and the duck pond was busy with lots of wildfowl.

Wonderful - a real gem.

Absolutely fascinating to visit the Mill itself, on a conducted tour (which takes about 45 mins) with a very knowlegable guide (Peter), and understand the functions of the Mill, and see them in action. A real education ! All at an amazing cost of £4.00 per adult, which is worth every penny for such an experience. And the cafe, aptly named the Watermill cafe, is one of the best ever been to - and that says something ! Wonderful cakes and coffees, and the most friendly and helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. It gets a 5 star hygiene rating, and no wonder. The cafe is worth a visit just on its own, but combined with the Mill tour, gives one an unforgettable afternoon out. Just brilliant all round. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Lunch and cake
Aug 2019 • Family
We went as a group of 5 specifically for lunch having visited the mill before. We had a delicious lunch, the open sandwiches on the home made soda bread using flour from the mill, were beautifully presented, very tasty and quick to arrive. The large choice of fantastic cakes and scones made it a difficult decision but we all tried something different, they are very generous portions, all extremely tasty but outstanding was the passion fruit cheesecake. Great that there was also a vegan option which was also fabulous. We will keep returning for the food, the setting and the extremely welcoming and hospitable ladies in the cafe.

The best cakes in the UK
Aug 2019 • Couples
We have visited Bunbury Mill on a couple of occasions, what a lovely place this is. It is so well cared for and is a real inspiration to those that keep it as a working mill, a real credit to Bunbury.

As for the tea room.......well, I’ve never had such beautiful cake and yes I’ve sampled a few! The ladies in this tea room are lovely and the cakes that they make are outstanding, simply the best around. I will be back again soon simply for cake!

Look at these gorgeous examples 🧁🍰🎂

An afternoon at Bunbury Mill.
May 2019
A truly fascinating piece of working history : the experience of being inside the Mill with the waterwheel turning, the machinery in full operation, the sounds and vibrations all make for an interesting, educational and thoroughly enjoyable visit.
The setting is peaceful and pretty and the (all local volunteer) staff helpful and knowledgeable.
Oh, and do not miss the great choice of homemade cakes and snacks in the beautifully presented tea room !

What a gem! A fascinating water mill visit with a knowledgeable guide. Lovely staff serving wonderful home made cakes in a very pleasant café/ visitor centre. Extremely good value throughout. Feeding the ducks was a highlight for our grandchildren.

Hi well that was an interesting and supprisingly enjoyable tour of the Mill. Thankyou to Barry our guide for the tour round. Driven past the place for 30yrs and never thought of dropping in for a visit. We had a look round with the parents, wife and child then a nice brew and a piece of cake, fed the ducks had chat with the friendly team and we all enjoyed it.

Beautiful Spot
Jul 2019 • Family
We had a lovely afternoon at Bunbury Mill, a beautiful spot in Cheshire. Our tour guide Barry was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the mill and made the experience fun, afterwards we had some amazing tea and cakes in the sunshine next to the lake and fed the ducks... truly a worthy Sunday afternoon outing with the family. We'll be back again throughout the Summer. Great job by all the staff who volunteer there.

Bunbury Mill Trust keep the 13th century milk in operation. Great educational insight to rural economics since the 1840’s and the implication of the change to the corn laws. Plus very lovely cakes and cafe

Food to die for!!
Jun 2019 • Friends
We had home made parsnip soup garnished with chives and a selection of freshly made to order sandwiches - on a variety of breads.
Absolutely delicious . We were full so ordered a selection of home baked cakes (chocolate, gin& tonic, coffee& walnut, lemon drizzle plus cheese scones) which were boxed up for us to take home.
This is the place to come to for fab food and lovely service. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back in the very near future!!
