I've had occasion - either through my own studies, on various conferences and/or in my travels to be on many college and university campuses in the US and in other countries; and - without equivocation, the rowdy, inebriated, disorganized, chaotic, rude, vulgar and otherwise wholly distasteful experience of attending a BIG 10 game at the University of Iowa can't be... The University of Iowa is currently bombarded with more construction than any other campus I have seen. They are just now finishing up the repairs on university arts and music buildings that were taken down after the 2008 floods. They look like they will be amazing though! The new Hancher should be opening any day now and it is breathtaking!... More

The university campus is very beautiful. We had a great experience doing a college visit and we had an opportunity to walk around the entire campus. Because the university was flooded a few years back, a lot of the buildings have been reconstructed and particularly the area where their art school is located has some exceptional buildings and new construction.... My oldest son snd I visited the University of Iowa during one of the school's fall visitor events and thoroughly enjoyed the campus and the staff and students we met Iowa University is located in a great Midwestern locale with nearby restaurants and shops that made our day trip extremely worthwhile

I just moved to Iowa City for a job at University Hospital 2 weeks ago and have really been impressed with the campus and physical facilities st the university and the diversity of univ and community offerings, there also seems to be very active intellectual community. The students seem happy to be here and I while being a short term... More

Visited the University for the 2nd time this weekend, as my son is considering attending next fall. The campus is beautiful and worth a stroll even if you have no connection to the university. Be sure to check out the downtown area as well. There are plenty of places to eat, shop, and have a drink or two.

Gorgeous campus and I was there right as the fall semester was starting up. They have an amazing medical school complex and pedestrian friendly areas for students and visitors to enjoy.

While expansive, most of the campus can be readily seen if you are willing to walk a bit. The Iowa River running through campus is a nice, settling feature. Iowa's football stadium (named after Iowa's Heisman Trophy winner Niles Kinnick - 1939) is on campus and worth a walk to if you are a sports fan. The new Recreation Center... More
