We went with 3 kids ages 12, 7, and 4 and they did very well hiking. There are some steep parts and a lot of uphill but they still enjoyed it. There are plenty of areas for you to cool off in the water too....More

There are nice hiking trails and plenty of spots to have a nice picnic. During normal weather, there's a nice creek running through the ledges. There are several places you can park your car. Not into hiking, pick a spot and relax. Plenty of room...More

Ledges is one of the best state parks in Iowa. The drive into the park past cornfields, through a heavily wooded area and down to the canyon floor is one seldom found in Iowa. Challenging hiking trails such as the Crow's Nest are easily found....More

Beautiful park. Water runs over the road in several places & kids live to be splashed by cars going through the water. Lots of trails & hiking. Campground is older, didn't look like it would be easy for large rigs to get around easily.

We enjoyed driving down the canyon road. The kids loved when we went over the bridges because the water from the road sprayed on the sides of the car. We enjoyed hiking the Indian trail.
