About
Life is Too Short -- The warmth of the fire pit and the golden hues of the setting sun in the company of good friends with a glass of wine remind us of why we began this winery. Five years ago we opened our winery doors for the first time, in large part, because of the urging of a dear family friend who had recently passed.Fireside Winery was born from a desire to embrace the "life is too short" philosophy, a long-term passion for wine, an interest in diversifying our family farm business, and a wish to pass on our farm heritage to our children. For five generations stewardship of this small corner of fertile eastern Iowa soil has rested with the Wyant family. Few places on earth possess the perfect combination of geology and climate as this land. Though corn and soybean are our primary crops, wine grapes have a long history in Iowa dating back to the 1800's. Now our Fireside family is helping to rebuild a wine grape growing legacy in our own rich soils. We chose the name Fireside Winery because we value the special times and memories created around the fire side. "Fireside Chats" made so famous by FDR were also inspirational to us because of the intimate nature of the talks and how it brought our country together. At home some of the best memories we have are of family bonfires we made with our children. Along those same lines we wanted to recreate those extraordinary feelings at Fireside Winery and to share them with you. When you visit Fireside Winery our wish is to provide you with exceptional service and delicious wines, but also to welcome you as a guest in our home. At Fireside you can relax with a glass of wine at one of our three fire pits on our lawn, cozy-up on our patio next to our fireplace, enjoy an appetizer, and listen to some of the best Midwestern live music on our outdoor stages. We hope you join us and build your own special memories at Fireside Winery with a glass of our wine while enjoying the warmth of the fire pit and scenic beauty of the setting sun. Sincerely,Bill & Rona Wyant, Owners

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful setting and wonderful wines. We were able to enjoy our tastings outside on a nice day. They offer a large variety of wines, but our favorites are still a couple of their originals - Blu and Firefly.

Lo and behold, there are wonderful wines in Iowa. Who knew? Well, now you do! My husband and I discovered this winery when we pulled off the road to have our picnic lunch. The wines are quite nice, standing up to anything California can provide comparably. And the port - oh! Nightcap is their port bottled in half bottles. The port was definitely an unexpected find. I returned to the winery recently to introduce a friend to their offerings and Sunday was in full swing with many folks grabbing cheese boards and a bottle of wine to enjoy on the lovely patio with a roaring fire in the stone fireplace and another fire in the firepit out in the garden. You can purchase Fireside wines in shops in the Amana Colonies but I highly recommend you opt to get the full experience at the winery.

We had a Bridal shower in the Wine barrel room and it was very private and the perfect venue for the Bride since this was her venue for the Wedding in Wisconsin. Space for large or small group. Great warm, happy, and cozy atmosphere. Very accommodating and the service was great. Wine by the bottle or by the glass. Food available if you want it. The event manager, she was very knowledgeable and helpful and made it all so easy!! All the staff was amazing.

We had a tasting at the winery and really enjoyed it. We like red dry wines and they had many selections and they were very good. I would say this is one of the best wineries we have visited in Iowa.

When visiting from Minneapolis we come here. Wine is special and unique. Appetizers are fabulous. Lots of outdoor seating with fire pits. Live music adds to the ideal atmosphere. What a treat! Take home a case or two of wine!

No limit on tasting! So you can try and find the right wine for you. They are all amazing - dry to sweet. This is the first winery I ever visited that I liked all their wines. Beautiful outdoor patio, yard, and fire pits. Indoor event space. Live music and dancing (check event announcements). Met the owner. Try the Honey Bacon Apple flatbread; you won't be disappointed.

This one is easy. Beautiful sitting area, awesome wines (Marquette is to die for), incredible staff (Kathy). Why didn’t we come here first and stay all day?
