Dear Friends,

i went to Fujairah with my family and friends from al ain. there we went to khor fakkan beach and hired jet ski for 1 hour @ 100 aed. but unfortunately my jet ski was upset in the water. but god grace we were wearing life jacket on that time. so some guys came and took as to the land. after that shop keep demeaning us to pay 12,000 AED due to water went inside the engine(but nothing happen. we keep argue with him to get our emirates ID back. (my concern is this jet ski will ride in the water only. so obviously water may go everywhere in the machine. so the manufacture or designer dosnt knw about this.?). finally we called the police and they came after 1 hour later. (most of the police dont know English). some how we convey our problem. so the police said solve this issue at the court and he went.

still our Emirates ID with the shop guy only. after 2 hours he start negotiating. came down to 7000 AED, and 15 minutes later 5000.. then 2000..but we said we can give only 200. we dont have more then that. if okay for you we will pay 200 or else we will meet in the court.(they should not have any rights to keep our Emirates ID for any cost). after many conversation her agreed for 200.

so friends, its beware of this. if anything happen like this dont agree for anything.
even i feel bad that paid 200 even. keep argue with them.

very happy to share my experience with you all.

thanks & Cheers

Khor Fakkan was one of stops on our cruise from Dubai. We planned the beach activity for this realy hot day.
At the exit from the ship young girl - representant of this hotel gave us the flysheet of this hotel. We spoke with her and decided to go there. Hotel provided the shuttle service with minibus from ship to the hotel all day long.
The day pass was 65 AED/person, it was possible to pay with euro - 14 euro/person for all day entry to the beach and pool facilities of the hotel, towels were provided.
The hotel area is well maitaned, clean with peacefull feeling. There is a snack bar, restaurant /buffet lunch for 40 AED/, pool bar. No alcoholic beverages in place.
The private beach is clean, many free sunloungers, safety guard service around wide pool /20x10 m/, covered children´s pool and beach too.
At the way back the minibus driver made short sightseeing tour around the city free of chargé for us. He told us, he only wanted to show us his city. Nice.
I recomand this place for all cruise passengers without day program.

We liked it so much, it is like a lost city specially when you enter from Khor fakkan harbor side, you see all the city as son as you drive of the last mountain, beach is very nice and clean.
Toilets, parking, restaurants, mosque are there so you don't need to worry about any thing. you can sit on the grass under palm trees little away from the beach (Approx. 100 m) and watch your kids playing and swimming. Try to select a position opposite to the restaurant and mosque if you go north on the corniche road, beach is becoming rocky rather than sandy.

Traveling by bus in UAE is possible and even between quite small cities like Fujairah, Khor Fakkan and Dibba. From Dubai you can reach Fujairah without any issue with RTA bus for 25 AED (6, 8 $). And from our experience we can share knowledge about traveling around Fujairah district.

Actually we supposed that Fujairah is tourist city near mountains and ocean. We were looking for hotel with beach and there was no option. Our decision was to book room in Oceanic Khor Fakkan Resort & Spa. Regarding the map from Fujairah to Khor Fakkan just 30 km and thought that we can reach this place even by taxi. When we came in Fujairah we were surprised that bus station was like just bus stop. Inside of this bus station were sitting only passengers and there was no information board or RTA workers. We tried to ask peoples where is bus station to Khor Fakkan long time and a lot of people didn’t know or show direction the same with bus stop. I didn’t mention about taxi in city and as for me it is too much big quantity for city like Fujairah. Everyone taxi driver want to peak up you and when you just walk you can hear signals sounds. Everyone taxi driver want to know where you going and suggest to you his service. At last one very kind guy explained to us that bus stop to Khor Fakkan and Dibba located near LuLu Hypermarket and price is 11 AED (3 $). From place near Fujairah bus station we took taxi to LuLu Hypermarket which coasted for us 6 AED (1,6 $). By the way taxi there is cheaper, from the start you will pay 3 AED and every 650 meters coast 1 AED but minimum charge for the trip is 5 AED. Our taxi driver as well suggested way in Khor Fakkan for 50 AED (13,8 $) but when we reject he kindly showed where bus stop for green buses in our direction. Meanwhile we were waiting for bus another taxi driver makes deal for sharing with one person who went to Khor Fakkan and we have to pay 15 AED for person. And again because we didn’t know how far from our hotel will be bus stop in Khor Fakkan we took taxi. After we saw this green bus on the road near Oceanic Khor Fakkan Resort & Spa and now we know for sure you can use bus only for you trip.

About Khor Fakkan it was love at first sight. It is really magic and lovely place in Middle East style. You will see a lot of greens and mountains everywhere. I didn’t expect that this city will be so beautiful. Chill atmosphere around streets and Oceanside. Oceanic Khor Fakkan Resort & Spa as well is great hotel with amazing beach. For dinner from hotel by walk you can reach center of city and it will take 15 - 20 minutes. We had our Arabic dinner in Wadi Al Arayesh and we spend 50 AED (13,6 $) for two person.

Nice bonus was that our hotel had daily transfer to Fujairah City Center. But as well you can use green bus to Fujairah. After you can take cheap taxi to the bus station and start you trip to Dubai. Timing for bus is every 60 minutes from 6:15 AM to 9:15 PM.

Last adventure was how we tried to visit public beach in Fujairah before bus trip to Dubai. We checked with map that near bus stop should be beach and decided took taxi. First driver broths us in opposite way and said this is only one beach in Fujairah. And it was place under construction and not for swim at all. We caught another taxi and driver explained that in city they don’t have beaches and we have to go in nearest small town just for 5 minutes on the way and we paid 15 AED (4 $). It was like park with beach and there were nobody. We didn’t find even ladies washroom around. After long time we tried stopped taxi to Fujairah but cars just went straight. One local guy kindly suggested his help and drove us even to bus stop. He told that we were in Kalba and this town behind Sharjah and there it is not allow stopping for taxi from Fujairah.

Our advice to make choice to side of Khor Fakkan or Dibba.

This place is around 1.5 hours drive from Sharjah and 2 hours from Dubai (depending upon where you start from Dubai). We visited khor-fakkan beach in the month of december. We were excited for our first road trip in the UAE, and needless to say the drive was awesome, sand covered mountains on the right side are good spots to stop by and take pictures. As we arrived at the beach and found a parking without any hassle, sparkling blue water on the beach greeted our eyes. There are date palm trees alongside the beach and beautiful naturally carved mountains on one corner. There were water-sport activities going on as we found them on every beach now-a-days. We took a long walk on the beach and got drenched inside the clear blue water. Spend time on sitting on a mountain kind of top near the beach to enjoy the sea waves and beautiful sea line touching horizon during sun-set time. Going to this beach was indeed an awesome experience to relax over a weekend and get away from busiest malls and jam-packed city roads of Dubai.

Our cruise ship stopped at Khor Fakkan for the day. We caught the shuttle bus to the end of the Port and then walked into the town. We brought our towels and found some fairly basic change rooms to change into our bathers and had a very refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters. It was a warm/hot day and we just loved the fresh salty water. Then had a very inexpensive lunch at a café/restaurant near the beach but the name escapes me. It served delicious middle eastern food. The staff I think were from Pakistan and were very friendly and helpful.

Recently visited khor fakkan beach. Attractions there are para gliding, water scooter and boat ride. You may visit near islands where there is a hidden beach (kalkali beach, as updated by boat captain) where one can enjoy swimming, fishing and see coral reef nearby. Must visit place

Nice Chill out place outside Dubai and in about 3 hrs drive. . and trust me through the desert in either side, the ride itself to the place is too good.

When you reach, one of the cleanest beach i have seen and best in maintenance al through out with the entrance to the beach a nice picnic spot.

There are many activities. parasailing. is the common and easiest, but i think there are groups who also can arrange sea diving and other activities. .
The weather in February was also too nice and just sitting in the sun and shade( depends upon the time of the day). this is a nice enjoyable place.
Should try location for visitors travelling to dubai. though private cars will be expensive, try out with a local u know who can drive you there, or rent a car if you have a valid driving permit.

If you are in UAE and bored of going to the malls every weekend then I have a place for you to spend your weekend. It's Khorfakkan Beach, (part of Sharjah Emirates). It will be a long drive but trust me it's all worth.

Things to do:
1) Play area for children (children will get occupied there)
2) Paragliding is something which I liked here. In Dubai it costs around 350 AED to 500 AED here it cost us only 90 AED, yes it's so cheap. The time of paragliding will be around 2 minutes. Yes it's less but at the end of the day you will experience paragliding. This was my first experience and it was a great experience.
3) Speed boat is also there and it can be taken for hourly rate. So it was around 150 AED for 1 hour. It was fun too.
4) Big ferry is there for family. If all the people want to go together. It's AED 20 .

They have good washroom facilities. You can also get food.

The entry is free. It's a wide park near road.

The beach is overall nice. Some good activities like parasailing and jetski rentals are available. not crowded. We were not aware of Sharjah laws that women are not allowed to wear bikinis or revealing swimsuits. Too many men here and we were not comfortable on the beach or in the water because of the gawking staring men. Recommended for covered ladies/muslim families to relax and enjoy in a conservative environment but not such a great experience for us.
