Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’m very relaxing place. Loved seeing the ruins and old graves. As it was spring, not much was in bloom but we enjoyed the daffodils very much. Very peaceful pace!

Very nice garden to visit but limited grounds to see, and a bit disappointing for the price of entry.

Having done most of the things near Loch Etive, we noticed the signs for the Priory and decided to give it a go. It is located on the banks of the Loch down a single track road which is easily navigated but not many signs showing the way so need a good map. Once inside the grounds, before the Priory are the gardens which they want to charge £5 which we thought was a bit steep especially in mid Autumn and there was not a lot in flower. Honesty is expected as there is a collection box by the stream which asks for your £5 but this is only for the gardens, not the Priory. To get to the Priory follow the signs past the big house and around the back. There is not a great lot to see but plenty of information boards and a lot of old graves dating back several hundred years. Interesting facts about the Priory if that is your kind of thing and once again, worth a visit, but don't expect too much.

This little tranquil spot is a few miles down a scenic road which winds alongside Loch Etive. The drive itself was picturesque. The gardens are situated around privately owned houses which makes it all the more intriguing. Payment is via an honesty box and it is clear to see how the money is spent on the upkeep of the area. The priory grounds are ruins and if you like a but history, this a a perfectly proportioned nugget just for you. Follow the road down to the water for a quick dip or a gentle stoll.

In the grounds of a private house, you are allowed to stroll through the gardens and see some nice shrubs and trees but it's a limited visit and at 5 pounds per adult it is maybe a bit overpriced. Close to the main coast road so ideal for a short stop, perhaps, but the old priory is very much a wreck with some ancient gravestones. A bit disappointing.

We visited here recently while staying in the area. The garden is located a few miles from the Connel Bridge along a single track road. There is a lawn in front of the house and a herbaceous border, but there was virtually nothing in bloom. There is also a wild garden which consisted of grass and bluebells among the trees. We may just have visited at the wrong time of year for this garden, but the charge of £5 per person was not appropriate.

Visited here the gardens which were absolutely stunning and well kept- very magical. The priory is very moving to. This has a free small car park and is off the main road a bit- take care on the roads as people travel very fast round there- including quarry lorries.
A donation is asked and i think it should be made that everyone who visits should be made to pay a small amount towards it to keep it looking as good as it does and you can see a lot of hard work and dedication goes towards making it looked nurtured by the workers there.
Very peaceful there- spent a few hours here taking all the wonder in.

Pleasant gardens and a small view into the history of Scotland with old ruins and headstones. A pleasant short walk through small gardens and a historical site on a fair day.

Ardchattan Priory Garden is approximately 5 miles down a single track road. Unfortunately we visited late one afternoon and so were not able to visit the whole of the gardens. The Priory part is very interesting with good interpretive boards. We only managed to visit the formal garden in front of the house which was splendid and the woodland walk.

Well worth a visit. The gardens are magnificent and the Priory ruins are interesting. Several pathways are laid out and easy access with good carpark
