    Only one Queen though
So my birthday venue was Teapot Island this year. I'd been wanting to visit for several years, and this Sunday was the right time. We were here for 11.30, having booked a table in advance. Good plan, as it steadily filled while we waited for brekkie. I really wanted the pancakes. Unfortunately, it was taken off the menu apparently because it was so busy. Shame. There were all manner of people visiting this day. Groups for Dads Day, families, couples older and younger. Small boats, paddle boarders, and kids and ponies enjoying the river. There is a very sizeable recreation paddock over this river where you can park for a flat rate of 4£ at the time of review. This was being used by many groups for fun food and frivolity. The teapot museum was 3£ each to enter and was fabulous! Hubby got board but persevered for me, and I looked at every 8,500 of the awesome teapots! What a very worthwhile place to celebrate and take in something completely out of whack. Awesome! I seriously felt for you all when I saw how far up your property that 2013 flood came to. But you obviously made it beautiful again. Well done, guys.

A bit disappointed with cafe area and food
Such a beautiful setting and garden area but I do feel that the cafe itself needed some love and attention, could be so nice with just a few tweaks. We also didn’t like that fact that the man that served behind the counter kept sitting at the bench just outside the cafe smoking as we could smell the smoke. The food wasn’t very well presented, all in all we felt like the usual staff must have been off today what with going by other peoples reviews.

    Overpriced, adequate food.
Bit of lunch here after a morning paddleboarding and canoeing on the Medway. Okay, so 2 lots of ham, egg and chips at £12.95 each, and 2 lots of jacket potato with Chili at £8.95 each. The food was alright, but we thought it was overpriced. The ham appeared to be pre-sliced supermarket produce, and the chili was in a pot on the side, quite small and fairly bland. With drinks, the bill was nearly £60.

We had been looking forward to visiting teapot island for some time. Had a week off arranged in Sept 23, tried calling several times to the island and sent an email, to see if we needed to book in the cafe, as the website suggests. Sadly, could not get and answer by phone or email, so had to cancel our visit. Not a great way to run a business !!!

Visited here one Saturday afternoon, not sure if theres any other parking but we had to park in a council car park (all day) as there was no other payment options.

Anyway lovely on a sunny day, the outside of the cafe is lovely with lots of seating and a fab play area for kids which my son loved.

We didn’t visit the teapot museum so can’t comment on that but you do have to pay to view all the teapots..

We had a drink and I had a cake from their selection of cakes which was nice but I was slightly put off by the girl at the till using her hand to get my cake out the cabinet…

After my son had a play we decided to get an ice cream which the cafe had a separate section for.. we waited but no one served us or acknowledged that we were there.. eventually a man came over and said he had called someone to serve us.. anyway the man came and served us two mr whippy style ice creams in a cone but again no gloves!

I wouldn’t come back here for food as I don’t like people touching my food then dealing with cash but the garden area and the surroundings are beautiful

Food was ok but not very helpful or friendly & unhelpful staff, particularly on the till. Felt like we were being an imposition rather than a paying customer.

My partner attended with our 3 children, headed to the cafe where they purchased some food, my partner asked specifically for gluten free cupcake, she was handed a gluten free cupcake, after eating half of it thought something didn't seem right, checked the label an it wasn't gluten free, after rasing this with the worker she was told we'll you've eaten half of it, after much stress the worker agreed to a refund, but then bringing over the money an slaming it on the table an stroming off, my partner was sick 3 times on the way home an will now be in alot of pain for few days, this is unacceptable behaviour an workers should not be handing out food when they obviously don't have a clue, lucky it wasn't someone with a nut allergy ect.

We arrived and parked on the road outside, then walked in via a little bridge to find a very busy little cafe serving breakfasts, we ordered 2 BLTs on brown baguettes, which were really very well filled and tasty.

We then went into the teapot museum. Wow, over 8000 teapots

We wondered around for about 3/4 of an hour looking at them, we even found one we have at home, called The Tea Set, we used to own a cafe in London called The Tea Set Cafe.

There were a lot of teapots that were charactures, and it was fun guessing who they were.

We finished uo having a nice ice cream before heading to our hotel

Yalding is beautiful as is Tea pot Island after a long walk I stoped for an ice cream but went to the toilet first, while coming out the toilet the gentlemen who appeared to own the place felt the need to stat I can only use the toilet if a paying customer, I informed him I was buying an ice cream which response was by all means buy an ice cream but after you have purchased an Icecream… . Which has completely got my back up and I did not buy anything. In future be kinder to the public. Thanks

Really rude staff - the person who served us at the till as we ordered was rude and condescending, he spoke over us, didn’t listen to what was being ordered and had a real attitude when we had to tell him he had the order wrong.

Drinks were flat and lukewarm, teapot was filthy.

On a positive note the food we ordered was actually nice which was a relief after the poor service, awful drinks and 55 minute wait. There was a sign up saying there would be a 15 minute wait for food, they weren’t busy and no apology given for the delay.

The same staff member (Darrel) screamed across the cafe several times to customers and was seen smoking outside the front entrance a lot during our visit only to walk back in and start serving food or taking orders at the counter without even washing his hands - We had a clear direct view of the counter and front entrance so we could see this happening!
