Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely relaxing stroll around the lake on a sunny afternoon. Paths well maintained and mostly dry underfoot. An easy, flat walk. Geese and ducks on the lake. Well worth a visit if you live locally. Cafe, toilets, and children's playground available. Easy parking.

This is such a lovely place tucked away round the back of houses. Really pretty lake with water lilies to walk round, plus other paths too. Brilliant cafe with sofas!! The staff were very friendly and the food good. Fab play area for our young grandson too!

Having lived in the area since 1994, I have visited this park hundreds of times.
Only over the last few years have you had to pay to walk in the park. Whilst I fully understand the need to assist with upkeep and ongoing works around the park I am at a loss as to why there are so few bins for dog mess ?
I have often wondered why whilst walking around the park whom just leaves their plastic dog poo bags just laying on the paths ? I mean if your going to pick it up then why not pop it in the provided bins ?. Having recently become a dog owner again, I am now able to answer my own question ! The bins are so far and few between it means carrying your dogs poo around the park with you ?
Whilst I appreciate that this is not a very nice subject matter ! I now also appreciate the frustration in paying to walk my dog but not being able to dispose of his bodily functions without carrying it for nearly half a mile ?!
For goodness sakes Sort this issue out. I will not bow to laziness and leave my dogs bag present upon the side of the path as I have respect for the area. But my goodness it's bloody annoying.

My daughter and I visited last month and had a lovely time! The walk was beautiful, lots of wildlife, and the playground is fab! She loved the climbing frame with the big slide particularly, we were there a good few hours! The cafe is a bit disappointing, slow service, and I can see it’s not just us who have experienced that, but there are plenty of other places nearby if you don’t like what you see at the cafe! We will be going back 🙂

Having had a lovely walk around the lake and woodland we came back to the cafe for refreshments. Being a very hot day the ice cream in the counter freezer was nearly finished. I asked if they had any more and was told no that was all that was left so I chose two scoops of strawberry ice cream. I asked for chocolate sauce and was told they didn't have any. As I was paying by the counter I saw a bottle of CHOCOLATE SAUCE and pointed it out to the girl serving me. She whisked it away saying it was just for cake topping! Really?! I paid our bill and we went outside to sit where all the tables were cluttered with dirty dishes. The cafe was quite empty ar this point so why couldn't they clear the tables? Just then some children came out with chocolate ice cream. Considering I had been told minutes earlier that they only had strawberry ice cream left and no delivery had been made in the meantime...where did the chocolate ice cream suddenly appear from! Very disappointed in the service and cleanliness of the cafe! I will visit the country park again but certainly not the cafe!! "Nil pois!"

Visited here a few years ago decided on return visit. Complete waste of time - hopes of seeing any wildlife ruined by the numerous inconsiderate people walking with dogs OFF leads - despite signage everywhere saying to keep dogs on leads. There were even dogs swimming in the lake !!!! Will not recommend or revisit. Parking is also expensive even for a short walk. Looked to try and find park warden to ask why dogs off leads as this is a site of special scientific interest- no one around. Shame on you Carmarthen County Council !!!!

Now I have lived 10 miles from this park for 25 years and never heard of it until Googling things to do with the kids!
Driving through a housing estate and entering through a small gate! You enter a 180 acres of walks and lakes! WOW! Why is this place not on the map like all the local country parks?
Good access and a fair sized car park, but as very few people have ever heard of it! No problems parking. Parking is a pound an hour up to £4 for the day!
No entry charge!
Great walks, marked paths for pedal bikes and horse riders and you can easy spend a half day just wandering. Paths are excellent for wheel chairs. A great place to spend a half day!
But, because it is council run, it is tired! The bird hide is falling down and missing most of it's windows and a fair few boards. The visitor center if a beautiful round building over looking the lake! But nothing in it to entice you in other than a higher view of the lake! They do say it is a wildlife center, but all we say was two coots from about 150 yards.
There is an adventure playground near the entrance which the kids enjoyed! But again is looking a bit tired.
Now the really good bit! Fantastic cafe with freshly made sandwiches and toasties, cakes coffee's, teas and soft drinks! I thought the prices looked a bit steep! But when the food arrived it was excellent value! Excellent food!
So if your local or on holiday and just want a nice country walk! I recommend this park. Might be good to go whilst no one knows it's there!
But don't expect too much!

Nice place for a walk. Make sure you have change for the parking meter as it does not take debit cards. A real problem if you’ve driven a long way as the cafe won’t change notes. This is the reason I’ve only given a low rating. Parking meters should at least be able to take paper notes as it won’t accept debit cards. A big disadvantage these days. My teenagers were disappointed that the zip wire ride is no longer there in the park.

A nice day out at the country park. Plenty of walks and a safe environment for children. The cafe is good and the facilities nice and clean. Parking is £3 for all day though seeing as entry to the park is free this isn't a big deal. Very enjoyable.

Great place to visit. It has a really good playing park for the kids. Lots of space to play hide and seek with kids. Great for mountain biking. Great for walks. This place is beautiful all the year round and a must see place to go for some natural entertainment. I have a dog. I clear up after my dogs. The only down side of this place is that lots of other people do not clear up after their dogs. So it is a matter of having to look where you walk. But there is a cafe here that is open most days. But in the winter it isn't open as much. But I have noticed, if the cafe isn't open then neither are the toilets. I don't know if this is the case all the time. But it was the case on days I visited when the cafe was closed. It's free to enter the park. But you have to pay for parking, which wasn't much really. It is a pay and display car park
