Few of us outside of the military realize how important Ft. Leavenworth has been and still is to the US military and officers from allies around the world. The old mansions and other buildings are beautiful. They have a lot of stories to tell. Much...More

This is a remarkable military post dating back to the early days of the Western expansion. It’s filled with all sorts of tributes to our military and our history. It’s also the site of the Oregon Trail and contains many monuments to view. There’s also...More

First off, don't forget to stop at the Visitors Center to get your passes onto the base. The first attraction you will see is a memorial to the Buffalo Soldiers. You can just drive and look or you can get out and read the history...More

We love history, so we loved visiting this historical post. Do visit the museum and drive by the wonderfully maintained houses dating back to the 19th century, still being used as military housing.

What a beautiful installation, full of history and charm. Stop by the museum, or take a walk along the bluffs of the Missouri River.

If you can get into this facility, the visit is well worth it. This is one of the Army's leading sites of military learning and research, populated by our nation's brightest and many students from our nation's allied forces. The classes are not classified and...More
