When available, Powell Observatory is an excellent visit. They hold star parties and open up for meteor showers and other celestial events. The high-powered scope and absence of light pollution make this a great place to visit.

They have several different telescopes to look through. There is a great presentation before you look at the planets and stars. The people are very knowing.
