Stopped in to light a candle, was awestruck by the sheer magnitude of the cathedral. The town is charming. The marble pillars and statues are so beautifully detailed.

Last Summer we traversed down Interstate 70 and jumped off and back on again as we headed West to Colorado . This was one of many Great stops along the way . Gorgeous architecture and stained glass windows, and the history was worth investigating . Very Prayerful , well worth the pause to refresh your soul .

Absolutely beautiful Cathedral tucked away in the small town of Victory KS on I70. We're not Catholic but took time to light candles and offer prayers for our family and nation. It's very stunning and you will be impressed. This is a must visit! God bless!

a majestic monument to the perseverance of early Catholic families in a harsh western Kansas environment. It is a beautiful building and grounds but be sure to read the history of the building and you will truly be amazed

While traveling along Interstate 70 through Kansas there aren't too many interesting stops close to the highway but this small town does in fact have a very interesting history and its' church is a beautiful one so do make the stop. It sure beats the same old rest areas!

This is exactly the sort of local destination you hope to come across on a road-trip. Traveling between Wilson/Lucas to Hays for dinner during an overnight getaway, I saw the sign for the "Cathedral of the Plains" on Rt 70 and on a whim we decided to stop. It was early evening, so I am very glad that the sanctuary... More

As others have said, the church is open. You must go inside. It is simply beautiful and such a surprise out in the middle of the Kansas plains. It is a huge Romanesque style church is a little tiny town. Wonderfully restored. A brochure near the church entrance tells the entire story and history of the church. The sign on... More

I've always been told that it was a sin not to go to church, well in the case of this truly spectacular sight in the middle of the plains of Kansas this is a fact. While driving along interstate 70 I saw a sign the said Cathedral of the Plains next exit on one of Kansas's brown attraction signs so... More

Going down I-70, I saw two large church spires in the distance and goaded on by the brown information sign, I decided to go visit. I was surprised to find the cathedral was open (so many are not) and was very impressive. Large, lots of stained glass, well maintained. A nice informational brochure was available also. Right up there with... More
