A nice national park on the shores of Ottawa river. It is good for bicycling, hiking. The swimming is not allowed due to bacteria or algae in the water. For going in the water a kayak or canoe can be rented.

I have never given a bad review but I must this time. We were visiting my daughter in Northern Ontario and had driven 9 hours to arrive at this campground. It was around 8pm and we were happy to have found a very nice place to stay for the next two nights. The ladies at the check in were very... More

We parked our car at the Ecolo ferry in Clarence Creek (Ontario side) and immediately were able to take the bike trail there from Thurso to Plaisance through the Plaisance National Park. It costs $8.50 per person to enter the park. Be sure to get a map of the area and to check directions. Beautiful scenery along the river. A... More

We've visited the beach here a few times. Nice little place with washrooms close by. No lifeguard. Bicycle rental available.

walked 10 km through the park. It is right along the river. The trail is just beautiful. Saw a turtle, frogs, a beaver dam, lovely flowers, trees and lots of birds. What a great way to spend the day. fee was $8.50. Would like to visit again

Wanted to go on a nature tour. Finally rented a canoe for an hour at the park. Visited nature friends by the water way to a bay on the Ottawa River. Beautiful, calm and peaceful. The center is beautiful and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Made our trip very pleasurable. We then walk the multiple well indicated trails crossing... More

Booked a weekend campsite at Plaisance park for the end of September; we ended up being lucky as it was a warm weekend with great weather. I cannot say enough good things about the park: 1)Great location from Ottawa, about an hour's drive from downtown Ottawa including some traffic 2)Friendly and helpful check-in staff 3)Our campsite was located in the... We decided to head out here on a beautiful summer day. What none of the other reviews mentions is that there are waterfalls about 1 km up the road; it's a quick hike up and down and $5 each for admission. There is lots of parking at the waterfalls, and a bit of history about the area as well. The... More

My wife, Anne, and I explore various cycle trails in and around Ottawa. We then advise the members of our cycling group, "The Wheels of Fortune", of the nature of the explored route in preparation for leading the group on the newly explored route the following Saturday. Monday's exploration was of the 17km cycle route starting at Plaisance through the... More
