    Well worth the hike!!
Really amazing waterfalls. Whilst La Fortuna waterfall is different and great in its own right, Nauyaca is a lot less commercialised and less busy and has a different feel to it altogether. It has two tiers and you can swim in the bottom one. Get your ticket and wristband from the main welcome hut and you can hike from their or if you have a suitable car, park a little further up. Either way though, the hike is hard. It’s probably going to be hot, and it’s really hilly. It’s definitely worth it though and jumping in the pools feels all the more refreshing! Must go!!

    Early birds win
Many sites and blogs say this is $8! It’s actually $28. Get there early to avoid crowds, and have the waterfall to yourself! Got there at a little after 7:30, walked to the falls and had it all to myself. No one else, besides two dogs that showed me the way!

    Amazing!
The falls are stunning! The water was a bit chilly and the current is strong near the waterfall but we enjoyed swimming. We were also able to jump off the cliff. The top lookout area was great and mostly secluded. I would have given it five stars but they allow house back riding tours and the pathway was covered in horse poop. The smell and having to constantly walk around the poop significantly took away from the hike.

Great time at Nuayaca waterfalls nature park
There are two companies selling entrances for Nuayaca. We went to the second one with the round yellow signs... called Nuayaca Waterfall Nature Park. We had a brilliant day out here. The way in is quite a bit further on from the other entrance to Nuayaca, down a track, but well worth doing. Get started with free coffee at the top but, then a nice walk down to the next hut about 40 mins easy walk down hill (or you can go by truck). Then chance to change, relax on hammocks, and 10 min further walk down to falls. Hiking sticks available too. Looked a safer swim option in rainy season on this entrance, so we got to enjoy a quick dip in the pool next to the upper waterfall, whereas the other side was very fast flowing water. Journey back up the hill by the truck to the first hut for more free coffee and games including pool, table tennis and giant jenga. They were serving food to a tour group which smelt great too. Really enjoyable day out! Not sure how it compares to the first entrance company, but I do know its a shorter hike and it was lovely. If coming from Uvita, and needing a taxi, we'd recommend +506 8488 2604. Friendly guy and good prices, and stopped for photo opportunities and wildlife.

    Worth every step
We hiked to the falls-totally worth the hike. It was a little crowded at the falls, but when you climb up to the upper falls-we were the only ones there and we hung out there for a while. On our hike out-we saw monkeys and several other animals which made it even better. Beautiful place to visit!

    Amazing Family Adventure
Our famiy of two 50 somethings and five 20 somethings had the most amazing time! We did the horseback tour with Fabian and he was fabulous! He quickly evaluated our skills and made the ride a great adventure. The waterfalls are breathtaking and two of our party even jumped from the falls! Just when you think it can't get any better the included lunch was one of our favortie CR meals!

Lovely day trip to Nauyaca Falls
Beautiful waterfall in/near Uvita. We walked to/from the parking lot rather than taking the transport and were treated with beautiful views and a family of capuchin monkeys eating lunch, including a young baby with its mom. The walk takes 1-1.5 hours each way at a slow/mod pace, including stopping for photos (and to watch monkeys) and is largely uphill going to the falls, but should be largely accessible to folks who are semi to moderately fit (sneakers worked fine for us). The facilities at the waterfalls were well maintained, including new viewing platforms, walkways, and restroom facilities. Would highly recommend visiting when in the area.

Very well run and fantastic views
We came here 25 years ago when it was Don Lulo's and now we came back with our kids. It's very well run and so beautiful. The hike to the falls is a good hike and when you reach the waterfall it is stunning. it's so nice to swim in the little pools under the falls. Highly recommend also walking up by the upper falls to take a few photos.

    Great falls for swimming
We went here for the day on a Saturday so expected it to be busy. Parking at the kiosk there is a 3km walk all downhill to the trails that follow the upper and lower falls. Trainers will be fine for this route but not flip flops. We paid for the tractor trailer back as it is very steep and boring on the way back. TIP - if you are feeling brave you can go back in the bucket of the tractor. The falls are spectacular and the lower falls has a large basin that can swim in. There are no changing areas by the falls - but there is a drop off point at the tailhead with toilets and changing rooms nearby. As it was a Saturday it was busy with lots of locals and tourists. Nowhere to leave your stuff while you swim but it felt quite safe to leave our rucksack and clothes under a rock.

    Gorgeous view
Very beautiful scenery! My wife and I loved it, but we are in our 60s and it was a little steep and dangerous to be walking on the rocks. My adult children loved it & swam to waterfall. Recommend if don't mind the slippery steep rocks & if you are younger of course.

Nauyaca Falls were amazing! The hike was around 4 miles from the Don Lulo parking area. $10 each. The hike was on a dirt road, not difficult, just hot and humid. Depends on what you used to. Beautiful and refreshing to swim around.

Fantastic waterfalls. We've been to 1/2 a dozen in SW Costa Rica and these are the nicest. Long walk but definitely worth it. Easy uphill walking on a great trail. Don't try it on 90 degree days with 90 % humidity. I think you can take horse rides. Water was incredible after the hike. Lots of room for everyone.

The Waterfall is awesome place, very nice experience, by 4x4 economic tour, the driver was nice and funny, nice moment !

However, very bad experience at the entrance with the young receptionist, she was absolutely not welcoming and pleasant. Luckily this colleague arrived to take care of us!

STUNNING FALLS. A generally easy hike to get to them, although we saw some cars driving people if needed. This was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Costa Rica. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Beautiful to look at and so refreshing to jump into! Bring a swimsuit and a snack and plan on spending several hours here. We could've spent even longer, but wanted to spend part of the day at the beach. This is a must do!!!

The best trip, whether you can ride or not. The horses are very well cared for and extremely well behaved, we were about 15 people and mostly inexperienced. The ride was great!
At the waterfall there are toilets and changing rooms.
The falls and pools are stunning! An hour or so for swimming then back on the horse. The meal on the way back was delicious!
Our guides, Denis and Erik were excellent, great fun and very experienced. Thank you! They put ropes up on the rocks so you can climb high and jump into the pools. Brilliant (to watch!!)
Overall an excellent trip. Don’t miss it!

Beautiful views of the falls. We took the 4x4 tour, I would not recommend hiking. But you can go by 4x4 or on a horse. Very friendly staff. If you go by 4x4, it's a very short walk to the upper falls but you have to go steep down for lower falls.

There are two different sides of the waterfall so make sure you go to Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park side for the best experience in every way. Having been to both sides, there is simply no comparison. The facilities, the immaculate trails through virgin forest, the views, and the amazing treatment by the staff make all the difference. Loved it!

The waterfalls were stunning, despite going in the dry season there was plenty of water. I would recommend Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park entrance rather than the normal entrance, this allows access from the other side of the waterfalls and the pool for the higher falls as well. It was also incredibly busy on the other side where as we had hardly anyone making for a much more enjoyable experience. You will need to drive an extra 15Km to get to this private entrance but it was well worth it for us. Use Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park in Waze.
