We had a great time exploring these murals. We walked across the bridge and came out right by the long mural wall. You can start at either end, but the dates are more in order if you start on the end closest to the bridge. We enjoyed the different styles in each mural, as they definitely weren't all done in the same style. There is also an area that juts up against the river that looks like they maybe use it for small concerts or events, as it had some seating and overlooked the water.

After walking from Ohio to Kentucky via the Roebling Suspension Bridge, take a few moments to tour the Roebling murals along the floodwalls in Covington. These beautiful works of art tell the story of the Queen City's history in a unique way.

One of the best kept secrets in Cincinnati is actually hiding in plain sight. As you cross the Roebling bridge, which is famous in its own right, you will see huge murals on the wall on the Kentucky Riverbank, that are now termed the Roebling Murals. These beautiful murals trace the history of the area including bison migration pathways of old crossing the Ohio River, uncle Tom's Cabin story of Eliza the slave escaping across the Ohio River, and paintings of Roebling Bridge architect John Roebling who went on to design the Brooklyn Bridge in nearly identical fashion. The view from the murals, of the great Ohio River, the highlights of the architecture over on the Cincinnati shoreline, and the Roebling bridge itself are simply outstanding and photogenic, in any season. Stop over and have a scenic view with a history lesson that can be enjoyably absorbed. I have brought numerous international visitors, scholars and students to see this spectacular site, and they all insist on its being a great spot.

I liked the mural which added to our enjoyment of the suspension bridge adjacent to it. There is a nice set of steps into the water where people can sit and rest. Some geese and baby geese were around. There was also an interesting area to the left side that looked like a helicopter pad.

We recently visited the Roebling Murals on the Floodwalls of Covington, Kentucky. The murals are magnificent and trace the history of this section of the Ohio River and the city of Covington throughout the ages. It is free to the public and well worth seeing. It is also located in the historic district of Covington and is surrounded by many stately river front homes.

Beautifully painted murals on the flood walls of Covington Ky. The paintings tell the story of the river, the settlements, the big flood that nearly wiped out the area, the Roebling bridge. Walk on a nice flat sidewalk as you gaze at the beautiful work done by the artist.

These big bright murals are at the base of a floodwall as you cross the bridge. They showcase the history of Kentucky and is a dramatic improvement over a cement or even a graffiti covered wall.

My son was an art student in high school when these are being painted and got to meet the artist and study his work.....It is excellent. They are a depiction of the history of the area from the beginnings through to the millennium. They are in excellent condition even though they were started 15 years and ago and endure the stages of the Ohio River. It is a most pleasant walk along the Riverfront with a beautiful history lesson. Parking can be found east of the murals on the riverfront or in pay garages a block or so up from here. One can enjoy a stroll along the riverfront area going west from the Licking River with the murals at the end of the walk.

Finding parking near it is pretty easy if you are able to make it to Riverside Drive. The murals tell a story of Cincinnati in a beautiful way. We are really lucky so many amazing people take the time to put together quality, educational sites like this for us to explore.

Go to the covingtonky, gov site then follow pages: visitors then downtown then download "files". (TripAdvisor doesn't allow HTML or website links) I'm glad that you asked - I wish I'd had this when we were there. Will definitely use it the next time we visit!
