Hearing about the serenity others experienced made me think we were at a whole different ocean! The day we visited Sunset beach there were red flags. No swimming for sure, and i didn't even dare wade. But it was fascinating to see the power and...More

Watch the Sunset with the US Flag being lowered to God Bless America, loacted next to the Cape May Light House and Cape May Beaches; very romantic and also a place for family with a sunken cement ship that is slowly going away.

I have been going there for many years - search for Cape May Diamonds or just enjoy the view. Sometimes difficult to park.

I wanted to attend the sunset ceremony so I visited Sunset Beach. I enjoyed a quiet early evening on the beach. There wasn't a lifeguard and the tide was pretty strong, so wading was a daring as I got! But, the sunset was breathtaking and...More

Not a great beach for swimming, but look for some Cape May diamonds and enjoy a sunset here!

We love the sunset ceremony and the shops, but the best thing was that dolphins were all around the beach during and after the flag-lowering ceremony. Some were up quite close.

The flag ceremony at sunset was inspirational. We enjoyed the playing of "God Bless America, the National Anthem and Taps as the special casket flags of veterans was lowered.

Sunset Beach is a "must see" when visiting beautiful Cape May, NJ. It is not your "typical" beach, in that it's covered with "Cape May diamonds" and boasts many fisherman.....no real waves - very still water........in fact, it's a very serene environment. Each evening during...More

This place is like heaven. The sand is a little rocky and 'seashelly' but you can mind that if you just sit there at 6 o'clock or so watching different sunsets and sailboats go by.

How is this beach for kids under 5? Are there life guards present? We stayed in wildwood last year and while it was fun, it was over crowded . I get the sense from reading the reviews that staying in cape may is a lot more quiet

The beach is great to play on and find Cape May Diamonds, seashells and sea glass but not so much for swimming. No Lifeguards here. There are lifeguards at designated beaches in Cape May and Cape May Point beaches.

Is there an entrance fee. Other Cape May beaches cost $6 for a day pass.
