This is a really old cemetery with a lot of history behind it. History buffs would enjoy. There is a military section included.

Lexington Cemetery is a wonderful place to stroll through, drive through, or just to sit in for awhile by the fountain and pond. It's beautiful in any season and has abundant, if elusive, wildlife. We've seen foxes, raccoons, many varieties of birds, and of course, the geese and ducks who are prominent in the pond area. There are many varieties... More

Lovely cemetery. Spring and Fall is best to see foliage. The history there is worth inspecting as well.

This is an unlikely choice for a sighting of tulips at first thought, but when those flowers bloom in the spring, the colors are vibrant, rich and perfect. Must see for tourists and locals alike.

This cemetery is essentially a free museum. Interesting sites include the graves of KY senator Henry Clay and legendary UK basketball coach Adolph Rupp. The grounds and monuments are beautiful, with several monuments being quite intricate. The tees are stunning, and the groundskeepers must really take pride in their work. The many names you will see engraved on monuments are... More

The Lexington Cemetery is a beautiful place to have a quiet walk and take a trip through history. While it's not the oldest cemetery around you will see a lot of graves from the early 1800's. Henry Clay's is particularly interesting.

I love visiting different cities and seeing their history. The Lexington Cemetery is full of beautiful sculptures and memorials to loved ones. The lanes meander throughout the sections and provide peaceful places to contemplate and remember. A crisp fall day with the leaves changing was a perfect time to visit.

Great place for photographs or to just sit in peace. You forget you are near downtown Lexington when you stroll through. Good spot for fall photos as well.

The weather was brisk and windy, so we just drove through the cemetery, however, you could walk around if you want. There is so much history here! The grounds are gorgeous with 2 different lakes, huge trees and gardens. Mary Todd Lincoln's family is buried here, as well as Henry Clay and other historical figures.
