About
A twisted tree at the corner of Sixth and Park in Old Louisville is a popular destination for history buffs and fans of the paranormal. According to a popular story, today's tree sprang up magically on the spot where a different tree once stood. That tree was the favored meeting spot for a coven of local witches. When the city chopped down their tree, their curse destroyed Louisville with a tornado. Want to learn more about the legend of the Witches' Tree? Take a guided tour today! Thank you to local author David Dominé, who holds the federal copyright for the story of the Witches' Tree. ©2017

My friend Jimmy and I left an offering of mullein leaf and an Iron nail for protection and good health at the beautiful old Witches Tree in May, I almost took a broken piece of bark from the ground but remembered the only rule of the witches Tree, “don’t take anything from the tree or a curse will follow.” I hope you visit soon and leave a little treasure.

We walked past this tree, viewing it from across the street, on our way to Sunday morning Mass at St. Louis Bertrand. We saw the bits and pieces strewn around it as if it was a memorial. Mainly, we saw a police department cardboard sign warning people not to stop. Later, I realized it was the Witches' Tree. I wish we had known before we hurried past. What's up Old Louisville? Perhaps the property owners don't want visitors...

This was a stop during the tour. Neat info about the Witches' of Old who would come here to conjure their spells! Lots of trinkets on the branches. Very eclectic sight, indeed!

This gnarled old tree is a hidden gem in Old Louisville. Historically a meeting spot for witches, many leave trinkets on the tree. Do not take them, or you will be subject to a witch's curse!

I took an evening tour with David Domine. I loved learning the history tree and being able to see all the trinkets others have left behind.

This tree is my favorite part of the evening Louisville ghost tour with David Domine. I have been twice and visited once on my own! David is very knowledgeable about the tree and it’s history. You should go.
