When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed at five of the different locations of the 21C hotel chain. I stay there whenever possible because I love art and love the idea of having a museum downstairs from my room that I can visit at any time of the day. I am sad to inform that the Louisville location no longer allows the public to visit the museum. You must be staying at the hotel to enjoy the museum. I hope that it is only the Louisville location.

Even if one doesn't stay here, their modern art installations make it a worthwhile tour. The golden David is so large that when you drive by you can only see his feet. Definitely take a stroll and take in this vision. Excellent restaurant on site if you are hungry.

We specifically made plans to have lunch at this hotel/museum restaurant. The restaurant is called “Proof on Main” & it was delicious. Afterwards, we didn’t need to go outside, because there’s an entrance to the museum from this restaurant. The modern art displayed here is very impressive and so is the warehouse space that houses this contemporary museum. Since the exhibitions here rotate, we look forward to returning again, and having lunch and a visit to the museum afterwards. It was a perfect afternoon! Very friendly staff all around. Thank you.

My wife and I have stayed here 8 to 10 times in the last 10 years and it’s always a great experience. We love Proof, the cutting edge art, the design of the hotel, its location, the room amenities, and the staff, both in the hotel and restaurant are very friendly and welcoming. Our meals (dinner and brunch) were especially good this weekend. Proof, and downtown, had a low key January vibe. I do wish the in-room TVs had the art channel, which used to be fun to have on in the background. The TV now is overly complicated (Chromecast instructions were straightforward but I never got it working). The Nespresso machine, though, works great and makes fantastic coffee. I’d highly suggest a night or two here as a romantic getaway if you’re a foodie or into modern art and design. You won’t be disappointed.

Lets face it, trying to find an attraction that is right for you and your family is tough but 21c Hotel and Museum is a win for everyone. Let’s start with the museum which is filled with intriguing art which will leave you entertained for hours. The Proof restaurant is a delicious spot perfect for any occasion. The hotel is the perfect lavish getaway filled with eccentric and eclectic art pieces. You can even find yourself surrounded by their trade mark life-sized red penguins! Overall this destination is the ideal spot for a variety of visitors.
To begin, this museum is whirlwind of modern art, full of creativity and quirk. The displays frequently rotate but are always full of interesting, eye-catching and even some interactive pieces. The 21c Museum is North America’s first museum devoted solely to art of the 21st century. In dedication to making the museum an enriching experience, each month it hosts an exciting program of special events, including concerts, film screenings, poetry readings, and weekly yoga classes. It is open 24 hours a day for anyone, and if you are not looking to spend, it is free to walk around and take in all the exhibits have to offer! Unquestionably this is a spot of extraordinary art for people of all ages.
Next, the Proof on Main restaurant aspect further adds to the amazing experience of 21c. Though the restaurant is separated from the museum, it is still attached, making it’s yummy tastes easily accessible. Levon Wallace, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, has been the Executive Chef at Proof. He has received both AAA Four and Five Diamond Restaurant Awards for his creative culinary techniques. Since coming to Proof in 2012, he has has earned a number of accolades including the title of Rising Star Chef from StarChefs. Since then Proof has been lauded as one of Esquire magazine’s “Best New Restaurants,”. Proof of Main’s menu provides fresh and local takes on breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert. If you want to check it out you don’t have to be a guest at the hotel or even a visitor of the museum to dine here. Proof not only creates interesting packages available to guests but sends a Gelato cart to the streets on thursdays throughout the summer. This restaurant provides a unique environment perfect for anyone looking for a true taste of what Louisville has to offer.
Lastly, the hotel aspect of 21c is what makes it so charming. It’s located on 700 West Main Street, making it the perfect spot to experience the best of downtown Louisville. The art does not stop in the museum, the most intriguing part about the hotel is the creative aspects flow throughout the whole building. There are 91 luxurious rooms available, which offer a one-of-a-kind experience to visitors. The suits are not only spacious but artfully designed creating a unique ambiance that is difficult to find anywhere else. Additionally, the incredible spa and fitness centers are perfect for complete relaxation. Did I mention there is a room service menu? If you find yourself visiting for business purposes then the business center and meeting rooms have you covered. No matter if you're attending for work or pleasure, this spot is a place everyone must try.
In conclusion, this attraction is a perfect combination of entertainment. The art museum itself is enrapturing for any audience. The Proof on Main restaurant combines the freshest tastes in Louisville to bring on a whole new life. The exquisite suits and service makes the hotel one of the most exciting stays in the country. There is no doubt that even if you have visited before, with the rotating menu and exhibits there is always a reason to come back. 21c in downtown Louisville provides a dynamic experience unlike any other.

We had a lot of issues with this hotel - the rooms, the communication with the front desk, etc. A big thank you to David Hall for helping us out and resolving our problems. The rest of the staff could learn a lot from you! Kudos!

Many people suggested we visit this hotel. We walked in and there was artwork all around us. There was even some artwork outside some of the windows. The art was all different genres. It's such a unique place and free!
We did not stay here or eat here (the restaurant is very expensive). We enjoyed it!

A truly different boutique hotel with some nude pictures hanging on the walls and a men’s bathroom where you can see people walking outside but they are unable to see you in a one way mirror, very unusual. A small bar area and the food is good. Overall, an interesting place to visit either for a cocktail or dinner, never stayed overnight.

What a great experience to walk through the lobby and downstairs area. The bar (Proof on Main) was SPECTACULAR, service awesome and the apps were incredible. Whipped ricotta and Chicken Fried Pork Cheeks are MAGICAL.

21 C is our go to place to stay when we're in Louisville. The location is convenient and walking distance to many attractions. The rooms are spacious and well stocked with all that you need. The black light in the bathroom is a fun touch. I love the Malin + Goetz toiletries that are provided. The peppermint soap and shampoo, and the rum body wash are my faves. We enjoy the in house art museum with continuously rotating art displays, the in house restaurant, Proof on Main, is always delicious, and the over all eclectic vibe of the hotel is delightful.
