My date and I had a great time at the NEWPORT AQUARIUM today ! We are 50+ and enjoyed it a lot. 1st Tip: Call ahead to avoid the line! I checked online this am SAT and it was giving me an entrance time of 3:30 ?!? By calling, I was able to get tickets pre-purchased, for a 12:15 admission.... More

Very nice, clean, friendly, and many miles of walking around. I will go back in March 2017 for another one week vacation.

We visited the aquarium with our 2.5 year old daughter and had a great day. The aquarium is full of many amazing fish, sharks, rays, frogs, snakes, penguins, etc. There is a touch tank for starfish as well as sharks. Our daughter loved the penguins. There is a fun play area in the Frog Bog for kids to run around... More

Recent visit left a lot lacking. Minimal interaction with staff for photo opportunities. Lacking speciality attractions. No jellyfish in the jellyfish room. The penguins were not active or entertaining. It was a disappointing outing the money for tickets were expensive and could have been be spent on a more entertaining outing. If from out of town and no access to... More

Apparently the grandchildren have been there before, but they are still interested in visiting the place. There are so much to see, and, in some cases to "touch" a critter that swim by. The older ones were interested in watching antics of some of those greedy penguins.

My husband attended a banquet for his company at the aquarium and part of the banquet was that everyone got to go through the aquarium afterwards. The way everyone talked it sounded like it was this "big" aquarium. It is not all that big and the displays were ok. It is nothing compared to the Ripley aquarium in Gatlinburg Tn,... More

Although there was a several hour wait due to the nice weather and the fact that they were on a time schedule to let people in, it was well worth the wait. The price is a bit high, but worth it. We had a coupon, but were informed that we had to have the paper form and not the phone.... More

This is a very nice aquarium. It is not a huge aquarium, but it is very nice. Keep in mind that you may want to arrive early in the day or make a quick trip through if you want to see the penguin exhibit. I have been there several times, but on two occasions, we could not see the penguins.... More

Robin, thank you so much for your review and for visiting us here at Newport Aquarium. You are correct in your observations about our cold weather penguins. Because many of our penguins are part of the Association of Zoos and Aquarium's Species Survival Plan, our biologists create the best possible environment for breeding pairs to help ensure the survival of... We went to see this aquarium with our Son, his wife and 4 small kids. We went on a Sunday, and drove about 2 hours to get there. The aquarium was doing an attendance special, kids under 12 are free with a paying adult. Neither my husband or myself have ever been to the aquarium, but several of our kids... More

We came on a Saturday and it was quite busy, but we were still able to enjoy all of the exhibits. Our young daughters loved everything and the shark bridge was a hit. The frog playground area was extremely busy, so we bypassed that and the kids didn't seem to mind. We would definitely come back.
