The structure and grounds are on the land that was the site of the Battle of Richmond. The Center recently added an outdoor Parrott rifle. There are plans to add a limber and caisson to the collection.

I have passed this place countless times on the way to work, shopping, etc. Having recently enjoyed nearby Battlefield Park, today's was a spur-of-the-moment visit. I learned so much from the exhibits here than I previously knew (about the local conflict) and was so glad I came. Great artifacts among the displays which were very well done. The Visitors Center... It was not as big as i thought it would be but it was well done. The greater was very friendly and made jokes about our Tennessee attar. There was a moving battle board that explained the battle it rely was good. The boards outside had a lot of information on what went on.

The gentleman at the visitors center was very knowledgeable about the site and about the Civil War in general. He was very friendly and allowed my small dog to come inside as well as the pet parrot that was traveling with a couple who were there at the same time. He also provided tips on sights to see in Richmond... More

I learned a bit of history on our trip around Kentucky without drinking bourbon. I did not know that a significant battle of the Civil War was fought around Richmond, KY. We didn't have a lot of time, but the visitors center is absolutely worth whatever time you can give it. We thought the center was closing at 4:00 but... More

The Welcome Center is very informative on the historical battle of Richmond. For me when I walk into the Center it takes me back to when I lived there when the home use to be the Depots Commanders home. Highly recommend to come visit and learn about the battle and history in Madison County.

We were looking for a stop on our way back to Minnesota and found out that the reenactment was taking place when we were in the area. It was very impressive and a wonderful history lesson for all of us but mostly for our preteen and teenage sons. The museum was nice as well. Worth a stop.

If you are interested in Civil War history, this is interesting and fun! Not only can ou watch a reenactment of the Battle, you can observe many re-enactors in period costumes, purchase all sorts of related clothing and artifacts, snack in a variety of food, hear music, and enjoy the grounds. Well organized event between Richmond and Berea, Ky, near... More

The Visitors center shows the history of The Battle of Richmond and it coincides with the Battle of Richmond reactment August 26th-29,2016. You can see how people lived before cell phones and automobiles. There are authentic camps and demonstrations

It's very nice for about an hour visit. It is on actual battle ground and gives a very nice description of the battle. Has a electronic model of the battle and several uniforms and civil war items. Staff is very friendly and the organization is trying hard to add more items and teach history. I would recommend visiting the reenactment... More
