You can experiences ample amount of wild life activities inside the park. The place it self is a photographer's paradise. The jungle serenity, coolness is really worth of million. This is one of the best place to see the Nature at its best.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 March 2024
- Mayank TNoida, India49 contributionsGood Trip…Overall It was an amazing experience. You feel in the lap of nature and well connected. Don’t go with an over excitement of watching tiger as it completely depends on the Mood of buddy but if you are a nature lover than it would be great journey for you. We went with a group of friends and their families and it was a memorable experience. You may find some difficulties if travelling with small kids as it’s very difficult for them to maintain a silence, which is required if you are in a search of tiger.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 31 March 2024

- James WSydney, Australia126 contributionsGreat Wildlife Viewing, Poor ManagementI visited Jim Corbett National Park near Ramnagar with my wife in April 2023. This park has the highest population of tigers in India, so offers one of the best opportunities to see the sub-continent's apex predator. We did two gypsy (private jeep) safaris (in Birjani and Jhirna zones) and two canter (shared truck) safaris (in Dhikala zone). We were fortunate to see a tiger in Birjani for an extended period and glimpse a tiger briefly in Dhikala. We also saw many other animals, including elephants, jackal, deer, monkeys, wild boar and marten. This is not Africa (where the flatter topography is far more friendly to sightings) so this represents a great outcome for two days in the park. Dhikala zone is the most famous, however it is especially hilly plus the canters (which most tourists visit this zone in) are very loud (scaring away animals, including the tiger we saw in this zone) and views more obstructed (jostling with 16 others to see). Given the price is comparable, taking the gypsy in other zones is probably a better plan. Ultimately, though, this national park could be managed better, which is the reason for the lower rating. The driver/guide quality is inconsistent, some brilliant, some disinterested. The hygiene of the toilets inside the park is the worst I've seen. Furthermore, the promising website only allows booking for individuals with both an Indian mobile number and bank account, but has no warnings to reveal this (just an ambiguous "failed transaction" message). Foreigners will need the help of a local (eg. tour agency) to book. The WhatsApp helpline is inconsistently manned, sometimes responding in minutes other times weeks. The email address is not manned at all. The booking slips don't explain clearly that the two pickup locations are the park gate (different for each zone) or the park office (next to the bus station in Ramnagar). The drivers of gypsies are meant to confirm before the trip where you want to be picked up via WhatsApp (again, unhelpful if your WhatsApp number is not the Indian number required for booking) and do this inconsistently. The canter drivers do not confirm so you need to be on time or risk missing out. The park office, in general, is in disarray, with all queries going to one very overworked woman with a pile of paper booking slips in front of her. Better management would help the park realise its potential and, in turn, benefit the local community.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 May 2024

You will get a govt certified guide at the entry of the whatever gate you have chosen Jhirna and Dhela zones are recommended The entry is easy, they take your IDs, check your cameras and you are on your way through whatever gate you are at. One can rent a pair of binoculars at the gate for Rs. 200 too and it is advised if you aren’t carrying your own. They come in handy for bird watching or if animals are out of normal sight range Advise carrying a head band or scarf to keep your hair in check if you have long hair coz the breeze is strong or a hat would do and it would keep the sun away too. If travelling during the winter months carry a sweater or a jacket for the morning safari, it tends to get a bit chilly. Summer or winter carry sunscreen as some areas have no forest cover and the sun does shine bright here I’ve done a few safaris over the few years and my experience with the guides that accompany you has always been goodVisited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 September 2024

No tigers are available at Jim Corbett National Park. They have gone deep into the jungle. Guides have to tell everytime that they have seen Tiger today morning or yesterday to keep visitors flowing in. In case you visit, do not forget to see stuffed tigers at Museum. Roads are very bad inside the park, hence if you select cantor you feel yourself stuffed inside iron cage with bone breaking experience. Dust will fill up your lungs fully with 4 hour drive inside the park. Though do not miss canteen inside, they serve very nice and warm food with excellent service.
Tip: Visit Ranthambore National Park for Tigers.

Horrible and time waste especially if you take the canters. Along with the driver, you also get a forest official who is utterly useless and does not share any local knowledge or signpost zones we are passing by. The driver drives at full speed so you hardly get to see anything. Other than the restaurant/wash-rooms inside which are extremely filthy and cannot be used, there are no stop points to observe wild-life. It is just not worth the money spent and forest officials know it. They don't carry walky-talkies despite the fact that tigers are tracked inside the reserve. So no efforts are made to show people around. Other than tigers also, its difficult to spot other wildlife (except deer/peacock/monkeys which you get to see otherwise also) as attitude of officials is poor and they do not make any efforts. People are better off going to other reserves. Having lived in north east our experience with likes of Kaziranga was so different and good. This was a complete disappointment.

JIm Corbett Tiger Reserve is an amazing national park.
Pros - You get to see tigers, elephants and other amazing animals.
Cons - there are no self-drive options.
The pros outweigh the Cons for sure. The guides always get you where you want to be and to give you the best chance of seeing wildlife. A thing to keep in mind is that this isn't a zoo so wildlife isn't guaranteed. My advice is to fall in love with birds and the big cats are a real bonus.
If you do want to see a big cat patience is key. You will likely need to book multiple safaris. Since, need to be out of the park at certain hours don't be late getting up.
Also, you are outside. Bring additional water and sunscreen.

As an adventure seeker it was my first trip to a national park. Te booking process was seamless. The Govt. Website is veru user friendly and you can book permits at nominL charges of the park authority. Fees varies for Indian nationals and Foreign nationals. They also provide you option to either select your gypsy or get one randomly alloted. The voucher generated carries all details including the gypsy number and drivers contact details...so it saves your time in looking after details.. With 350 tigers left in the park, the park aslo offers variety of flaura and fauna to soothe your eyes.. The park has total 8 gates. Ideal time to visit is from Mid September to 1 st week of June. Though dhikala opens in November and closes in by may end, June 1st week. Remember to book your reservations in advance for dhikala as it is an experience of its own kind to stay and experience the silent jungle. The booking window is 45 days prior. Also canter safari is also organised in dhikala in two slots. MORNING and Afternoon with nominal charges INR 1600 per person.

First of all, I want to thanks team TravelGleam Wild for their immaculate planning and the knowledge about the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
I visited Corbett with my family with Tiger in my mind and my wish came through when we sighted a tiger in Bijrani zone. This was on our wishlist for a long time and we decided to go on a Good Friday long weekend.
We had a good family time where we relaxed, had meals together and some nice evenings to enjoy together as well.
Lastly, Sourabh (9958993316 , 9899954675) from Travelgleam Wild was amazing and booked Bijrani zone for us at the last moment as per the current sighting update, and that evening was one of the best for us in the wild.
Thanks Travelgleam Wild !!

We did a canter safari. Rough ride. Guide was not English speaking, so we had no idea what he was talking. People were standing up and blocking the view. Some elephants were seen far away. Stopped for comfort break - toilets were appalling & filthy. No tigers seen. On our return we saw an elephant at close quarters.

Amazing place for tiger sighting. Strongly recommending always go for gypsey safaris. A safari in Canter in dhikala zone is not worth. It was just a long bus tour with less enthusiastic guide.
Ramnagar to Nainital Road. In route we saw deer crossing, elephants. We stayed in Kumaun Mandal Vikas Nigam heritage stay and headed back to our destinations after that.
Amazing place to visit.
You'll get lucky if you see a tiger roaming around.

Jim Corbett National Park is part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve. It lies in Uttarakhand's Nainital district. Corbett's magical landscape is well-known and beloved for its tiger richness. We went deeper into the Dikala region to see tigers face to face. You should not go if there is no cellular coverage in the district of Dikala. We must use candles at night. When you spot a Tiger, it is important to be quiet.

No stars at all. It is a scam. The total time of the safari was of 5 hours. A halt is provided after around 2 hours. This halt is for 30 minutes at one of their guest houses. From this halt, we are able to see a herd of elephants. The herd is present very, very far away in a river which is at a lower altitude. During the entire safari bus ride, we saw around 20 deer, 1 langur, 5-10 monkeys. I urge you all not to visit Jim Corbett Safari as it will waste your money, time and energy.

I have done online booking and got Jungle Safari permit for Dhikala, gate It is around 2500 rupees ( boarding place dhangiri).
Does this include vehicle (safari) charges or just entry fee.
If it is just entry fee how to book vehicle for safari and what are charges.
I am staying out of forest in near by hotel.
Thanks.

Hi dreamer we had done the Bookings through our hotel for the jungle Safari and they charged us 4500/-- for the full jeep Safari for 6 pax driver and guide also. I don't know what you have booked whether a jeep Safari or canter Safari. Please clarify the same from the hotel or booking authority. Thanks

By train you will have to go to Ramnagar via Delhi, coz not sure if Nasik will have direct connectivity.
By air is bit expensive, nearest operational airport is Pantnagar which is 50 kms from the park. Here too you will have to get a flight from Delhi or Dehradun is the other option.

Are there any traveler here having booking on 3rd March from Dhikla Zone ?

1. Shall we book it from the Hotel or From Ramnagar office ?
2. Also will there be a case that we reach there and even though we have permit, we might not get Jeep as all are booked for some reason. ?
3. how much is the cost for the jeep from the ramanagar office ?

We have booked stay at sonanadi frh and we were 12 people while booking as an extra friend is added now and we have no chance to book online now, do I have any chance to get an extra permit for my friend.!?
Written 21 November 2017
I am afraid not - All FRH booking are done online and you cannot modify them. What you can do is that - book another accommodation online if available. You can speak on the the forest Office as well if you have one room where extra bed can be kept but that will be a chance which I would not suggest.

Hello, I have bought an online permit for Gypsy Safari on 21st April afternoon and Canter Safari on 22nd April. Please let me now what are my next steps???
Written 12 April 2017
Hello now once you reach there contact the tourism office in Ramnagar which is nearby to bus stand it's Govt office and the safari there are run under Govt licence so you need not worry about charges it's fixed and i think you are staying outside the national park so get your safari from Ramnagar to national park in eve than come back to your hotel or where you are staying in eve than for next day you have booked canter it's a small group safari and you need to contact reception for the safari or you can contact directly to agency if no is provided on tickets since this is run by private license holders
Thanks any que ?
