This venue is amazing- both the beautiful home and excellent gardens were delightful to see. The antique furnishings and knowledgeable tour guide made this visit a wonderful learning experience.

My boyfriend and I visited Houmas House last Wednesday, 2/8/17, and it was delightful. It was the first time I had been there, though my sweetie -- who is from Louisiana -- had been before, and we both enjoyed it immensely. It was the perfect day, the gardens were beautiful, but best of all was the tour. It was not... More

This is a must-see. The gardens are beautiful during any season of the year and they have a fabulous gift shop. I always take our out-of-town visitors here.

Picture being greeted at the front doors of a beautiful, centuries old plantation house by an Anthony Hopkins look-alike. His impeccable manners and astounding knowledge made the tour completely fascinating! So many interesting artifacts in the house, so many stories! From vampire kits, famous visitors, and heads rolling down the staircase, to half million dollar silver sculptures, and beautiful views... More

My husband and I did a tour of Houmas House first. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Houmas House is outstanding and delight to tour. Very much enjoyed learning the history of the home and property. Also enjoyed the connection to the Bette Davis movie "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte." After the tour, we walked around... More

Living in the area I have been to Houmas House several times. I love the gardens and they are interesting to see at different times of the year. I have toured the house at least 5 times. Each time with a different guide so a different experience. My only complaint would be our last tour, the guide was so good... More

We had visited Oak Alley earlier in the day and after wandering along River Road we decided to have some lunch. We parked near the Houmas House Gift shop and walked in seeking directions to the gift shop. The salesperson was not too helpful so we sought help outside and were directed to "the building with the gingerbread trim" Wandering... More

The tickets were about $25 per person and well worth it. The gardens are a immaculate and a joy to explore, the mansion has been wonderfully restored, and there is even a lovely gift shop. Our tour guide was delightful and very knowledgeable - not to mention her cute little Cajun accent really added to the experience. If I have... More

Wonderful place to visit-a must see! The grounds and house were beautiful and my tour guide was amazing. So much I didn't know about the area and the history of this part of Louisiana. A great day trip from Nola and offering the bus service is a great idea. Lunch was good, too!
