Took a side trip through the small downtown area of Donaldson on way to Nottoway Plantation. Has a couple of streets which have stood still in time with many historical elements still visible. Beautiful old buildings to observe. Definitely worth a drive.

We stayed in Donaldsonville because it was closest to Pierre Part, LA. It is very close to River Road and many plantations. They also have an Historic District and great restaurants. And, of course, the mighty Mississippi River!
