A 45 minute drive from Stanley. Very impressive, it’s only a 2 minute walk from the road through a lovely forest setting. 16 mtrs in its base, 67 mtrs high. It’s companion nearby up the steps is also worth a look.

A lovely short walk through stunning forest to get to the Big Tree. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and take it slowly, the ground is usually wet and slippery.

A big old tree but on the disappointing side, starting to rot. A lot of other big old trees around. Just up from the Dip Waterfall so take in the 2 attractions at the one time.

This is a really big tree. They have built a raised walkway around the tree so it's easy to visit. If you have a group, link hands and try to form a circle around the tree.

Dirt road access but a reasonable dry weather road. An easy and short walk from the parking area to the big tree and its platform. It is a big knarly tree but the timber platform base allows visitors to get up close and appreciate its...More

Well worth the 26 km detour off the main road on our trip from Cradle Mountain to Stanley. A beautiful area of Tasmanian Forrest with a very impressive raging waterfall at Dip Falls.

There are a lot of amazing trees to see in Tasmania. This tree is not the tallest but reportable has the largest girth. Very interesting to view up close the gnarled base of the tree

It may not be the largest tree in the world. But it is large enough to amaze you, unless you are coming from US.

The big tree is only minutes from Dip Falls. A short 5 minute walk from the parking area and on level ground. This tree is the biggest I have ever seen. Make sure you don't miss it. We definitely recommend a visit.

My wife and I both enjoyed the visit here and having a "selfie" with the tree. If you are in the area it's well worth the 24k drive on the main highway and back to see it. The Dip Falls are just before this and...More
