Enjoyed seeing a beautiful home with 85% original furnishings. The trees on the property were magnificent. The docent was knowledgeable and made the story of the family come alive. A must see in this area.

My husband and I visited New Iberia as a side trip (about a 30 minute drive) from Lafayette, La. The town itself was somewhat disappointing (the historic area is only a couple of blocks) but The Shadows on the Teche was definitely worth the drive....More

The historical Shadows is of great pride to New Iberia. It dates back to the Civil War , and much that is original to the house. If you are a history buff, this is a great place to visit.

The first tour starts around 9 or 9:30 am and the last tour starts about 4:15. However you would want to go early enough to have plenty of time to look around the ground on your own.
