Didn't expect this at all, especially in Shreveport!! Must see. Make sure you have a couple hours. There are all kinds of things to see. Great works by Remington and others. There are plenty of paintings and sculptures as well as firearms and dolls and photography. It's a hodgepodge of different eras nicely laid out. This is a great thing... More

The museum is tucked away in a lovely, established neighborhood. I was surprised at how large the museum was, the caliber of artists' works present, and and variety of art contained in the exhibits. It's a lovely place to spend an afternoon. There is no admission charge.

Wow, what a wonderful museum. As you walk in the front door(free admission), the first two paintings you see are done by Asher Durand, landscape artist of the Hudson River School movement--very impressive--no telling what they're worth. Whole section dedicated to the Hudson River movement. Large number of bronzes by Fredric Remington and western art by Remington and Charles Marion... More

Went with the whole family, has a wide variety of works, and you get a better understanding of the history of the area. This is a very extensive collection.

A mixture of classic and contemporary art of various mediums. Rotation of displays and beautiful grounds especially when the azaleas are in bloom. Local favorite for wedding and engagement pictures .

A wonderful art collection with emphasis given to western art. Generally they have a seasonal special focus . The museum has been especially active in attracting neighborhood interest with outside movies and special events. The grounds are always a seasonal treat, fall, winter, spring and summer. Don't miss this gem!

Excellent art gallery with a little bit for every taste! Also a great garden, especially in spring when the azaleas are blooming. The gallery has a list of everything you can imagine. You turn a corner and there is another unexpected exhibit. They also offer tours. Give them a call. It's a wonderful place to be on a rainy day... More

One night a year, Norton Art Gallery hosts a Night at the Museum, wherein local actors dress up as historical characters and play their parts. We get to experience icons like Marilyn Monroe, Faust, Sakagwea, Captain Henry Shreve, and lots more. Of course, some are better than others - I can assure you that "Marilyn" REALLY gets into her role,... More
