We had visited this site before, but we made a return visit to get the Atchafalya National Heritage Area Passport Book stamp. There is an excellent video presentation regarding the historical relocation of Canadian French by the English in 1700's to Louisiana. Check it out.

I would suggest calling ahead. Sometimes events like the acadian music monday night's can be cancelled. Its run by volunteers. Its ok , there are about 8 different movies the ranger can put in for you and lots of books to read and displays. You...More

Has a very informative staff,very interesting displays of local history and is located on the Bayou Lafourche.It is also down the street from the best beignets in Lousiana. Find these at Rob's Donuts.( a local legend)
