Ran by chance into the bazaar Lord Hopeton opens his house for every last week-end in November. Lots and lots of stands with charming people, unique atmosphere in this lovely house, music and singing of carols. Crowded but not over crowded.

Was with school trip, was great, very informative, with dressing up (including the adults!) in the dressage of the staff of days gone by - think downtown abbey! You got to see how things would be for the staff working in days gone by, the family's rooms, toys, etc. Was fascinating to see. We got to see the stables, dining... More

The stately pile of Hopetoun house was the venue for our son and daughter in laws wedding on 17th December 2016. The wedding was attended by around 110 guests plus both families . The Wedding ceremony took place at the Hopetoun house chapel and was ministered by a very friendly church minister with lots of good humour which helped settle... More

We went around the impressive Christmas Fayre with a wide variety of stalls and produce in wonderful rooms with lovely crackling fires. I'm sure there was something for every taste there and many stalls were offering special deals. Afterwards we went for a lovely walk in the frosty grounds with magnificent views over the Firth of Forth.

The annual Christmas Fayre at Hopetoun House must be one of the best around for variety of stalls, price range, venue & organising. The car park is run with precision & on hand staff to direct you to available spaces. A similar system in the Stables cafe means you can calmly queue & get food & drink and then be... More

We were lucky enough to attend a special event dinner here as few weeks ago. The evening began with a tour of the house which was spectacular. Wonderful history and beautifully appointed. Fantastic works of art. The dinner in the main ball room was delicious and was exquisitely decorated for the night. Fabulous place for a special occasion or event.

This was a wonderful school trip. It was well organised and interactive. Not only did the pupils get to dance in the ballroom, write with quill pens, play with Victorian toys, they also got to dress up in Victorian household staff clothes and experience the duties that they carried out. It is a beautiful house with lush gardens. The staff... More

Attended fireworks this evening, excellent display as always. One big drawback was the car parking,to take an hour to get out of car park was not acceptable,it was obvious that more experienced stewards were needed, due to the frustration of some drivers I witnessed a few altercations between drivers. Much better to go late as you are parked further up. We arrived... More
