A great afternoon out on a pristine boat with professional crew - very interesting and clear commentary under the three iconic bridges and around Inchcolm island - great value for money with some fantastic scenery

Brilliant trip, luckily weather was good, super views, saw some seals, tour guide very knowledgeable alongside a running commentary on loudspeaker which wasn’t invasive. When you see a guide who must have done this trip thousands of times still have verve and passion for the animals and views, you are lucky!

Friendly staff made us feel welcome aboard this cruise. Great views of the three Forth bridges, interesting commentary and onboard drinks and snacks available. Paying extra for landing passes to visit Inchcolm island is definitely worth it, but just doing the cruise is still a lovely day out.

Family trip with two adults, a ten year old and 2 year old. Everyone had an amazing time. It was great to get information about various points along the route. The children loved getting soaked by the spray on the top deck. Wonderful views of the bridges and surrounding area. Really recommend the trip.

It was a cold and miserable day, but what a fun journey around the Forth. I learned a lot about the bridges and other sites along the way, helped along by a hot coffee available at the bar.

This trip is as great as advertised. The boat was clean and comfortable. The crew and staff were friendly and helpful. The audio recording of the tour was clear and easy to understand. The information on the bridges was very interesting. Appreciated that the captain interrupted the recorded tour to point out seals along the way.
We did the tour of Inchcolm Island and really enjoyed the time there also. The abbey ruin and former armaments are quite interesting. In our group was a four year old who had a blast the entire three hours. Thank you for the well run, well presented tour.

We are a married couple; we moved to Scotland in Jan.2023. On 20 Jul we went on the 3hr Maid of the Forth boat trip to celebrate our first 🏴 6months, and to admire the beautiful bridges. Our cruise also included 1.5hrs on the amazing island of Inchholme with its tiny abbey,. Beaches and huge population of sea birds. The boat and crew were great, the commentary along the way was thorough, and for newbies like us very interesting. S.Queensferry is a fabulous town to embark from and disembark in. The trip ran exactly to time and we finished the day with a lovely meal at the nearby Rail Bridge restaurant (not included, obvs).

We had a fantastic time. It was a blustery old day but we came prepared so that we could enjoy some time on the top deck. The staff were great too with a little open bar to warm the kockles.

The weather can be chilly and a bit windy, but we do have our open top deck and heated and covered lower area, with bar so you can enjoy a little something to keep warm. My teenage daughter would like to do this trip with a couple of friends. Do they need accompanied by an adult? I couldn’t see anything in the terms and conditions about this. Thanks.

Does the boat have toilets sorry strange question but you know kids and last minute attempts.
Hi, yes we have toilets onboard, the toilets are in our heated/covered area. We also have a bar which serves a variety of drinks and snacks.

How accessible is it for people with limited mobility
Hi,
We certainly can assist people with limited mobility. We have a 6 foot ramp from the pier to the boat with handrails. There are then 2 shallow steps leading into the back of the boat and a 30cm thresh-hold step from the back to the front of the boat. All of this is manageable and crew are always there to assist you. We can take on strollers and foldable wheelchairs. If you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to contact us direct on. 0131 331 5000.
how much is the admission to inchcolm?
Admission is £6 per adult, £4.80 per concession (over 60) and £3.60 per child.
If you have Historic Scotland membership, English Heritage or the welsh equivalent you pay no admission. Likewise if you have the explorer pass you also pay no admission.

How likely is it to see Puffins on the 1.5 hour sail n Monday 6 May?
There are a number of Puffins nesting on Inchcolm They have been spotted on lots of the cruises, however we never guarantee seeing them as they can be shy and also hard to spot.

È possibile prenotare in anticipo online. In alternativa è possibile acquistare i biglietti il giorno dal nostro ufficio a Hawes Pier. I prezzi sono £ 14 solo per la crociera e £ 20 per atterrare su Inchcolm Island.
Is this trip available on Thursday 8th November?
Hi, Inchcolm Island is now closed for the season, and we ourselves stop sailing at the end of October.

Can I take my dog?
Hi,
Dogs are more than welcome on The Maid and they also travel free. They would need to be on a leash whilst on the Island.
