This site is located on a dirt road off Rt 11 between Brownville and Millinocket. The remains of the ovens are worth a trip and the store is a lot of fun for picking up North Woods souvenirs.

The historical aspects are very interesting and educational. The camping there is amazing. Beautiful, peaceful, and private sites. Excellent prices. Gulf Hagas is an amazing place. Great fishing, hunting, and just site seeing.

This is a State Historic Site on the road to the Gulf Hagas Trail in Northern Maine. It's right across the road from the check in station. You're required to use the check in station, even if you're visiting the state historical site. I'm not...More
