Great family visit and interesting history with Peary's explorations. Nice collection of artifacts, art, and arctic culture. This makes a nice complement to the campus art museum. Also, complements a visit to Peary's summer home on Eagle island if you get the chance.

Arctic museum was fascinating with quite a collection and wealth of information from pioneers to the arctic. Beads from the Natives, Equipment used for the expeditions, and stories pictures, and articles all displayed and well organized. Well worth a stop here!!

This is a small exhibit area in a college classrooms building. BUT it is very interesting - and well worth seeing IF you are in the area.

At first I wasn't sure why in the world this museum was at Bowdoin College but it soon became apparent. Very interesting artifacts and photos.

I'm amazed at what these explorers put themselves through. I guess it helps to be a little crazy. Nice display of pics and artifacts from this expedition. Another good place on a rainy day.

As fans of Arctic explorers, we went expecting a unique presentation of Bowdoin's connection with Peary and the Arctic. That it does. But the emphasis is primarily on a former president of the college and his Arctic travels; not so much Peary. My sense is...More
