We stayed in a cottage on Main Street across from the library, my first time in Camden but not my last. The town is beautiful, the stores are fabulous, restaurants are amazing. You don't need a car and can walk everywhere. The harbor views are picture perfect, and kudos to the people of Maine, the most friendly of all the... More

This was our first time to Camden and will not be our last. The town is quaint, picturesque and the perfect place to take a walk through. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a prettier library and the park area around it. Numerous places to find a park bench and just relax and look at the beautiful views!

We were having breakfast at the Camden Deli and watched as a battle was reenacted at this historic site. It was all very picturesque over looking Camden Harbor while soldiers with muskets lined up to get their orders. You just never know what you will see in Camden!!

Main Street had the old colorful houses. But go up the hill to compare the older architecture....the old Methodist Church was converted to condominiums (it looked that way). A few gingerbread style houses. The Episcopalian church was on a slope where you can get a good angle of the colorful shops. The street signs remind pedestrians to stop, cross and... More

This is a very nice area near the waterfront. Some interesting shops and places to eat. It is a small area so you can cover the entire place in an afternoon. I suggest walking through the park on the east wide of town. Lovely views of the harbor.

This is a very unusual spot. A beautiful seaside garden and lush lawn covered amphitheater that sits literally right on the harbor. Unfortunately there were no performances scheduled during our short stay in Camden. Definitely requires a return visit.

The downtown historic district is charming (Peyton Place was filmed here) but parking is a bit of a nightmare.
