Beautiful park

Such a lovely place to enjoy the outdoors and play games with our family. The facilities are great and well maintained. Lovely grounds to have a party in.

Dropped in one afternoon, and then stayed a bit longer for the Monthly Summer Moonlight Markets, and enjoyed it all. Wide open lawns, a big lake, plenty of shady trees, a few ducks, and the markets made up for a great day for all. The markets were free, and probably the biggest in the north eastern suburbs, stocking both food... More

This is a great place for a picnic especially underneath the shady trees during Summer. Go for a walk around the reservoir or simply relax in a chair and watch the world go by. Great playground for children. Have had many family picnics here over many years.

Plenty of lawn to spread you picnic blanket. The playground is good and probably more suited to older children. Great walk around the lake but small children need to be closely watched as the slope down to the lake is quite steep

Visit often with the children, we come to feed the ducks and play on the childrens playground. Great day out, and free!

We used to live across the road from this park. It's large and green and pretty and they have alot of events here (ethnic events, being in a largely Italian suburb). A great place to go with the kids or the dog on the weekend. A little annoying if you live across the road and there's an event on and... More

Attended the night markets for Xmas shopping. What a lovely surprise. Lots of different stalls. Recommend the hamburger for $5.00. We purchased a little dress for a girl, some funny magnets & great smelling candles. Very helpful information volunteers too. Parking is a little hard, as it fills up fast. They had carol singers, very nicely done for Xmas time.

We visit Thorndon Park once or twice a month. There's a terrific playground for the under 15's and tonnes of grass for ball play for the older kids. The walk around the old reservoir is fantastic with a nice mix of waterside paths and 'bush bashing' through the vegetation. The channels with constant water flowing are great fun for our... More

Popular picnic spot. Good facilities include children's playground with great selection of equipment, shady picnic areas, barbecues, Rotary kiosk on weekends. Good for all the family to play on the equipment or walk around the lake through well maintained gardens.
