A large, shaded junior/toddler play park with a liberty disabled swing provide fun for children of all abilities.Multiple barbeques and picnic settings beckon invitingly across the shady grassed expanse. The park contains a rotunda (which is available for hire) and a pavilion.A kiosk and heritage museum are proudly operated by the Rotary Club of Morialta.Please note that dogs are not allowed in Thorndon Park as it is a recognised bird sanctuary.

Great park for a picnic. BBQs provided plenty of trees for shade. Walking track around the lake. Many birds feeding around the lake. Playground for the kids.

A nice place for family outing especially with children. They have a lot for children from all sorts of swings and games, duck feeding, beautiful lawns, and of course barbaque to freshen up the apetite.

Best park ever. Plenty of shade and covered areas, BBQs, wetlands, bird life, walking trails, grassed areas, playground equipment, liberty swing for wheelchair-bound, a giant chessboard, waterfall and less than 10km from the CBD.

Very pretty park with a lovely lake. Lots of large areas to picnic & play. Good equipment for children. Quite popular the day we visited with large groups around the place.

Large expanses of green grass and playground areas. BBQs provided so good for picnics. Ball games not allowed in main area but can be played in further small areas. Large car park.

There is a footpath around 3/4 of the actual lake but I don't think it goes all the way around.

You would have to get there early as he park is very popular and fills up quick. If any doubts about the Gazebo, just a quick call to the local council should give you the answer to be sure.
