If you're interested in history this is a good place for a quick visit. It is conveniently located. One only needs 30 - 45 minutes for a visit.

We walked to the blockhouse from our motel. The area and gift shop (very reasonable prices) are kept up by the state and a local boy scout troop.

This is the place to see if you would like to experience the feel of being in a block house looking through a hole in the side of the building looking for Indians etc.

Small Park with an interesting history. Picnic area near the river. Operated by the Boy Scouts. If you have a national parks Passport book bring it, it is a state historical site but a National also so there is a stamp

Cool stop on our trip. Quick visit, nice park by the river, would be a pretty place for a picnic lunch.

Interesting look back in time in when you explore the Blockhouse itself. The grounds are nice. Great place for a picnic. Nice views.
