Wonderful relaxing and enjoyable area, Great scenery. Great fun seaplane fly-in every September. Great out of the way destination. Lots to see and do around the Lake and in Greenville. Little known area but a good place to plan a visit.

We kayaked with the Loons... ducks visited us while we enjoyed sunsets down by the lake, but we saw no moose. Perhaps on our next trip. Great place for kayaking, hiking and camping.

Moosehead is big, beautiful and wild. It's 1,000 feet above sea level and so big it has its own weather.

We were only there for one night, but the lake was gorgeous and the people we met were friendly. The warm night and full moon made it extra special

We toured the lake on the SS Katahdin and really enjoyed a few hours on the water. It's a pretty lake with a lot of history. We went as far as Sugar Island before turning back.

A great small book to pick up is "Best Easy Day Hikes around Greenville" by Greg Westrich. I found it very helpful.
