Lots to see - and lots still to be restored

A nice little ride on the trolley - complete with bells and whistles - and a stroll thru the workshops to see the restored cars

Such enthusiastic and informative people work here. And such beautiful restorations of the trolley cars. I learned about trolley cars and urban development too; who knew trolleys transformed cities so much? A well-stocked store for the enthusiast and the general visitor. We had a good length trolley ride. All kinds of transit memorabilia/ work in progress to see on site... More

I had heard about this museum a while ago because it has a car in which Theodore Roosevelt rode and spoke from once and every year hosts "Theodore Roosevelt Days". I remember seeing a drawing with this advertisement and the car appeared to be something quite baroque. As a TR fan and because we were taking a short day trip... More

Back in the UK we have many railway "preservation" projects run by enthusiastic amateurs who have gathered together more old locos carriages and wagons than they can realistically expect to preserve; and this museum is a bit like that. It claims to have over 200 tramcars from every system that ever operated in the US - and seems to have... More

We found this place by accident on our honeymoon in 2005 and loved it so much. We then returned in 2016 and we had to visit again. As luck would have it the Pumpkinheadfest was going on as well. The site is just fantastic, the volunteers are so passionate about the subject and provided plenty of information and laughs on... More

Around the world there are hundreds of transportation museums. They range from small all volunteer run to large government operations with hundreds of employees. No matter their size, every museum needs a clear objective. That motivates the crews and makes the venue attractive to visitors. The Seashore Trolley Museum has expanded to cover all modes and changed the name to... More

I visited Seashore on Transit Day, which was last Saturday (the 8th). Transit Day is when things in the museum that typically don't run on a normal day run on Transit Day, such as buses, rapid transit (subway), and other trolleys. The volunteers did a great job explaining all the specifications of the vehicles. There was actually so much running... More
