Portland Fire Engine Co. offering narrated sightseeing tours of Portland...

Portland Fire Engine Co. offering narrated sightseeing tours of Portland Maine aboard a Vintage Fire Engine. We explore the peninsula of Portland and its many lighthouses and forts as well as the amazing architectural buildings hidden inside of the cobble stoned streets that make up our wonderful city. The tour is a great way of reliving Portland’s past, present and future. The viewing area high up on the Fire Engine gives amazing views of Casco Bay as well as fantastic opportunities for photographs. We are a highly rated tour operator in Portland so please check out some of our 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor below.

The sightseeing tours are approximately 50 minutes in length and are fully narrated with a very knowledgeable guide displaying high resolution photographs from the Maine Historical Society through our on-board multimedia system which includes a large flat LED TV. We begin and end our tours in the heart of the Old Port which is a great way to discover all that our magical city has to offer. This area of the city is great for sightseeing tours as well as the world famous shopping and the amazing restaurants, pubs and shopping.

Stopped in Portland while on a cruise. Didn't really have anything planned. We spotted this older fire engine advertising a tour around town, can't resist a ride on a fire truck! Well, we weren't sorry. We loaded up and my wife got to ride in the Special Middle Seat! She got to wear a fire helmet and helped the guide,... More

12billo12- The 'Special Middle Seat' is the envy of many on our tours! Glad your wife enjoyed the fire hat and was a good sport when asked to help Glenn point out several of the sites on the tour. It makes our job easy when we have such fun people on board with us! Thanks again for the great review! More

We took the Portland Fire Engine tour on Tuesday 10/11 and had a great time. Out tour guide "Guy" knew the history and was entertaining the entire time. Ridding in the fire truck was really cool.

This was a very different way of seeing the sights of Boston at a very reasonable price. Our guide took a great pride in his city and was very informative. It was very easy to get in and out of the truck and the seats were comfortable. A great trip.

We really enjoyed the tour. Both of the guys were very helpful and pleasant. We especially like our tour guide Glenn. He was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor and caring for the people on the tour. My husband is a 40+ year volunteer firefighter and we just had to take the fire engine tour!

It was fun to drive around to see the sights of Portland. It's always interested to hear the history and stories from an area you are not familiar with.

The Portland Fire Engine Tour was the highlight of our day in Portland! Our tour guide, Glenn, offered a wealth of info about the area and the attractions we were passing, but also had us entertained and laughing. Even though it was the beginning of October, we didn't need jackets—it was a warm, sparkling clear day. From the top of... More
