When rebuilding occurred, it was done in the style of the time - Victorian. Thus there are many beautiful and historic Victorian houses on this end of... More

Walk, bike, jog, roller blade. Trail runs along the water and through some industrial areas. Worth a visit on a sunny day or to view sunrise or sunset

This is a great park along the waterfront in Portland, ME. The path is well paved for walking or biking. It is very handicap accessible. This is not worth a special trip but if you are in the area and would like a nice leisurely walk then it is perfect.

The Promenade has decent access right down to the shore with plenty of places to park and view the sights of the bay. We drove right down to where the locals launch their boats and took a quick walk along the shoreline looking for seals...(none that day). They have quite a bit of walking trails in this area for those... More

We ran this trail to the Back Cove trail. It is a nice paved trail all the way over. I did not know it goes by the sewer plant. It was not terrible but we did catch the occasional whiff. This part is at the end if you star from Commercial street, so it is a way down the trail... More

The Promenade is accessible on foot or by car. Plenty of parking . Beautiful vistas from any spot. The trails are in great shape and the trails from this area are connected to Bayside Trail and the Back Cove Trail. Paths are appropriate for walking solo or with dogs and children not as good for bikes because of the congestion... More

The park is maintained by several volunteer groups including Portland Trails, gorgeous spot for a walk or ride, kid friendly and handicapped accessible. Just beautiful!
