Drive all the way down the Eastern Promenade. Past the old buildings that now house restaurants and boutiques. Do a little shopping and eat right on the water. Walk down the pier and take a look at the big 'cat'. Hope to take her one day. Take pictures of the rotten supports jutting out of the water. Ride the mini... More

Brought a friend to Portland for an overnight and showed her the sights of Portland with a little background/history of this city. She was so impressed at how glorious this city is, in history, in architecture, in artisans, and friendly people.

Get away from the retail areas and enjoy this beautiful part of Portland. Great views of Casco Bay along with many great old homes. Head down Congress Street for some nice small shops and neighborhood eateries. The Prom area was also the start of the Woman's March on January 21, 2017 which drew an estimated 10,000 people.

When rebuilding occurred, it was done in the style of the time - Victorian. Thus there are many beautiful and historic Victorian houses on this end of... More

Walk, bike, jog, roller blade. Trail runs along the water and through some industrial areas. Worth a visit on a sunny day or to view sunrise or sunset

This is a great park along the waterfront in Portland, ME. The path is well paved for walking or biking. It is very handicap accessible. This is not worth a special trip but if you are in the area and would like a nice leisurely walk then it is perfect.

The Promenade has decent access right down to the shore with plenty of places to park and view the sights of the bay. We drove right down to where the locals launch their boats and took a quick walk along the shoreline looking for seals...(none that day). They have quite a bit of walking trails in this area for those... More
