I walked the length of the promenade from downtown all the way around the bend. Really pleasant, great views of the harbor and islands--would be a nice place to bicycle.

We were in Portland on July 4th this year and heard we should go to the Eastern Prom for fireworks on the harbor. They were extremely impressive and went on for over 30 minutes. The finale was one of the largest I’ve seen.

In 2008, my family and I were vacationing in Maine and noticed an advertisement for July 4 fireworks on the Eastern Prom. We went on a whim, and were blown away by the experience: 40,000+ people sitting on a hillside overlooking Portland's harbor, more than...More

The walk along the water is very relaxing. Great views of the many boats just off shore. Lots of walkers and joggers, but plenty of space for everyone.

Pretty views for walking along the promenade. Very small beach, dogs not allowed till after 5pm.... a bit silly given how small the beach is and few people on it. Lots of green space and a trail for walking.

We didn't do very much of the walk but we spent long minutes exploring rocky coves and beaches, fencing with reeds and finding sea glass along the shore. Nice place to visit.

Went for an early morning run in this park while visiting. The park is clean and safe, and as a young female I had no fears running by myself on the well-groomed path.

It is where to have the best viewing for the 4th of July festivities. Also nice just to walk, go down to east end beach or relax.
