This is a working lobster boat. Room for only 6 people. We learned so much about the lobster industry. Never really knew what was involved in traping lobster. Learned not only about the lobsters but also what it takes to get a lobster license.Wonderful experience!

We took our family of 4 to Boston for a vacation this past July. The plan was to drive up to Maine and spend one night and go on a lobster boat tour the next morning. Our two boys (11 and 13) were very excited to be able to check the traps and see what it is like to be... More

I'm really glad we made this part of our trip. The Captain and his mate Fred are the real deal. They readily shared interesting and amusing stories about the life of a Maine lobsterman. It was fascinating getting a glimpse into their lives and work. There is nothing put-on or showy about the trip; the same could be said of... More

Captain Jack's lobster boat is an absolute must do activity. We went with our 9 year old grandson who was fascinated with Fred's descriptions of the process and rules of lobstering. He had the opportunity to band a lobster, throw a too small one back and even drive the boat! Captain Hale and Fred are not only knowledgeable but gracious... More

We had a great time with Capt. Steve and Mate Fred. We were out for 1 1/2 hours pulling traps all over the bay. They took lots of time telling us and showing us how real Maine lobstering works! Enjoyed it immensely!

We had a terrific outing with Captain Steve and learned an amazing amount about lobsters and lobstering in New England. It was incredible to see just how much hard work goes into catching the lobsters that we all love to eat. Cpt. Steve was a wealth of information about lobsters, the whole industry and other activities going on around the... More

I felt like the price was right, the amount of time was right, and the experience was real. They are real fishermen and are doing their job, you just get to come along for the ride. We were looking for a real Maine experience and this was perfect. Thanks Captain.

This was a terrific experience. The captain is a lobsterman who was hurt some time ago and told he couldn't continue to work in that field. Well, he does, but he tends to something like 300 traps, and supplements the income by taking people along on his boat. He and his mate were very knowledgeable, told great stories and gave... More

The Maine coast is geared to tourists however I felt that going on the Captain Jack Lobster Boat gave me a taste of Maine life. I loved being on the boat (only 6 passengers allowed) and seeing what lobstermen do. The first mate kindly answered all my questions. We were able to purchase 2 of the lobsters and have it cooked...
