Decided to try the route for this Water Falls road trip. This park is nice, however I would not travel far to see it. I did not see anything special about this park after driving One hour to see this called Falls. I was disappointed....More

The Rumford Falls, on the Androscoggin River, was discovered in the late 1800s and by the early 1900s an hydro-electric power plant was in full operation. The Rumford Falls is the highest falls east of Niagra Falls with a total extended drop of approximately 188...More

These falls are fantastic especially when the river is running high, spring just after the snow melt will probably see the most flow. Very picturesque in the fall around the first two weeks in October. See a giant Paul Bunyan and the Blue Ox statues...More

While it certainly isn't in the big league of waterfalls, this is a nice place for Rumford. The entire park area is well done with some interesting sculptures near the river, plus a very cool statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe.

We were disappointed with the falls. A mere trickle barely visible from the lookout point! Town was also not so thrilling. It has had better days.

In Rumford Maine on the Androscoggin River we have the largest falls in the Northeast! Best viewed in the spring during the season run off.. Beautiful picnic spot, but great place to stop any time of the year

Right on Highway 2, the person in the information booth was very helpful, had a lot of info and gave me just what I needed to visit Grafton Notch State Park

I stopped here on my way home to Ottawa from New Brunswick, specifically because I am a geocacher and this is an "EarthCache" location. The falls are pretty, and the park is a nice quiet place to stop for a rest along Route 2.
